So my old Dolphin died after 12 years of service and difficult bag cleaning. It did a great job, but I hated to clean out the bag. I bought this new Triton on the hope of easy top-loading basket and it cleans most debris, but disappointed that it will not pick up any dead algae. Besides spending $1000 on a new robot, you will need to order $100 ultra-fine filter panels to get the job done. They work just fine, but still wondering why Dolphin just doesn't include them in the initial purchase? Oh, they probably want to make an extra 100 bucks on these 4 little filter panels....don't you think?

We called it Mo. Inspired by the floor cleaning robot in WALL-E. quick reminder...foreign contaminant I guess one star for each year alive is a good synopsis. I'd highly recommend buying the 3rd party extended warranty. I did and am happier for it. Purchased in Spring 2019. Mo died end of summer 2021. What is that, 27 months? The Triton PS had a 24mo warranty. In order for it to "clean" the pool, it had to run as long as there was daylight. Yes, that's a manual restart every 2-3 hours...or when I saw it not on. Mo never managed to clean all the wall surfaces in its 2-year life. Because I purchased the 3rd party extended warranty, I received a full refund from the 3rd party, Asurion. Now I have $900 to put towards another unit. I'm either going as high end as Maytronics goes or jump to another brand. I don't get a that warm fuzzy when I look at Maytronics products and think, you get what you pay for. I wish I did because: great concept!, yet poor execution, and the poor execution is for what matters the most, its brain and the functionality to clean the entire pool. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Writing this review after a full season of use. Executive Summary: it does not clean my entire pool: 2 stars. Received the product and it worked as is supposed to right out of the box. No problems with controller working properly. No problems with unit working properly. The unit came with 2 sets of filter screens, large debris and fine debris. Easy to clean. Easy to swap filters. It has options for long and short cycles with the longest cycle at 2-3 hours. The controller is easy to understand and use. Yes, we pool owners have to clean this product thoroughly after every daily use for it to work well, especially when the fine filters are in. My pool is ~ 35k gal modified L with side walls that have a straight-to-angle-to-bottom walls at the deep end. About 5ft down the side wall, it angles to the floor. Floor at 8 ft. The deep end also has 45 angle walls as it goes from diving board end to side of pool. These, deep end, corners are not at a 90, rather 45. The modified L has a 45 degree wall for the transition from the long L to the short L. The shallow end has 90 degree side wall to floor. The Triton PS would not clean the 45 walls at the deep end from the floor to the surface. It would miss completely them every time. It would also miss other areas (side walls and angle transitions) in the transition from shallow-to-deep end. My understanding for the mapping algorithm is it would "learn" the pool with more use. This was a major deciding factor in the purchase. Mapping algorithms are not difficult. They simply plot points in 3 dimensions based on a gyroscope and distance traveled. Well, I guess that's not the case with this device's programming. I would run the product multiple times several days in a row to try and get it to "learn" the pool. It's not that smart...and software is only as smart at the programmers. The Triton PS does not have the programmed ability properly map nor does it 'know' if it did or did not clean sections of the pool. Kinda ridiculous in my opinion because this is its marketing gimmick. It should function as marketed. I called tech support and discussed this scenario. Tech support was quick to answer, knowledgeable, and helpful in answering my questions. I was told I have a "special" pool. The Triton PS has difficulty with "special" pools. I would use the word 'fraudulent' in their marketing materials with Dolphin not stating what is known about the product, both good and bad. No one likes to disclose the bad stuff cause then they have to take responsibility. I guess that is what you get in an unregulated industry. Unfortunately, we consumers have to dig through reviews like this get the real story. I'm not a fan of companies using consumers as their bench test and then saying: "oh-well, it's yours now. Thank you for teaching us how to make the next version better...sucker.' I purchased this robot to reduce energy in cleaning the pool. This was to replace a Polaris automatic cleaner that uses a 220V electric motor that gulps the energy compared to the low voltage Triton that sips the energy. I had a major landscaping remodel (had to be done anyway) to ensure I had power where I needed it and not use the "not-recommended" extension cord. Unfortunately, I am looking to either buy a new Polaris 'pool-cat' or rebuild the one I have. The Polaris cleans to entire pool. I also set up my Polaris power supply to be programmable. It can automatically run when I want it to for as long as I want it to. The Triton PS is not able to be programmed for automatic daily use. You have to turn it on every time you use it. It also has a max cycle time of 2-3 hours that has to be manually turned on every time. I can understand why because there is a low voltage electric motor in the unit. The company would not want to promote leaving this type of robotic cleaner in the water for extended periods of time. I asked if this product could have its software upgraded, with the idea, their programmers could "fix this bug" and have it work as advertised. "No." I wish this unit worked as advertised for my application. It's a beautiful concept with horrible execution.

One of the biggest selling points for me was the app. I was comparing this one against the Nautilus and ended up with the Triton+ purely because I wanted the ability to use the app controls. (And I liked the Yellow/Black aesthetic) Since you're not supposed to keep the base power adaptor exposed to the sun, it seems like the robot is not meant to live in the pool. Also, you shouldn't have the robot in the pool while swimmers are present and it doesn't have the capability of moving in/out of the pool. So it seems like it's something that you put away and take out as necessary. So I'm not sure why such a thing would need an app with the capability to remote start or setup a schedule, but here we are. It has these functions that I'll probably never use. I wonder if there's anyone who actually does use them. The manual "remote control" feature of the app is super underwhelming. There's a large delay between pressing the virtual joystick on the screen to seeing the robot move the way you want. This amount of input lag makes it really hard to actually navigate the robot. If you turn, you'll either undershoot or overshoot your turn. If you move, you'll either undershoot or overshoot the move. Whether that's because it's a WiFi signal and outside is typically far from an access point, or simply because the program itself is slow, who can say? In any case, it hasn't been a worthwhile addition to the product. Ultimately, I just use the app for metrics like "it took this long" or "it filtered this much water" and I can see a history of when it's been run. That's about it for its usefulness to me, really. For its actual cleaning, it's pretty good. I bought this vacuum instead of hiring someone to come out and clean my pool in a new house with an uncovered pool that had collected months of fallen debris, and it's done a pretty good job. My pool has underground cement stools built in, and this robot cannot handle that. The first few times that I ran its cleaning cycle, it would get stuck on these underwater stools and require manual intervention. Somehow, after the first day, it decided the area with the stools doesn't exist anymore and doesn't get stuck. Whether it retained a map of the pool or I've just gotten lucky, I'm not sure. Last up- the build quality. My only complaint is about the latch that holds in the filter basket. Every time I pull this up, it feels cheap and fragile. I have to apply enough force that it worries me I'm going to snap off a part someday. When that happens, maybe I'll update the review and drop a star or two. For now, this robot is pretty good and I'm happy with it.

The Dolphin Triton does the job, completely, every time. Its operation is very simple and the control unit requires little effort to operate. You simply drop the unit in the pool, attach the cable to the control unit, plug the control unit in and push two control functions. The "rover" then goes about a routine of covering the entire pool sucking up everything seen and unseen. The unit periodically climbs the walls and scrubs the edge tiles. I have only used my unit about 8 times and each time the unit does the job in about 2 hours. The unit stops when the job is complete, you can then draw the unit to the edge with the cable, but LIFT the unit out by the handle, don't lift by the cable. The unit has very fine filter walls, and you will find all the visible debris from the pool and even sand. Super job, easy to operate. Very satisfied. We are new pool owners and this makes life very easy.

So the first one I received was a dud! It ran for 10-15 sec and just stopped. The return was easy and seamless. The 2nd one did what was expected. It picks up the big stuff with ease and cleaning it is by far much easier then my old Aquabot that had a cotton type bag. However, the small particles that fall into my pool like pollen seems to go right through the mesh basket. Aside from that im happy with the product. The basket is easy to clean. All 4 sides pop out. I haven't found a need to do that yet...buy they do. It climbs the walls and will stay at the top for about 10-15 sec to even scrub the waterline. The cord is easy to wrap up and the controls are simplistic. Just plug in and let it go. Overall I'm happy with it I just wish it was as thorough as my old one. I guess it's a trade off. Have a vacuum that will collect everything and take 10-15 mins to clean the cotton bag or one that misses the tiny stuff but only take 2-3mins max to clean.

I have seen complaints that it doesn't get the sides of the pool however this little robot goes all over my pool. However, I am going to give a little disclaimer. I have a large vinyl liner pool, the liner was just redone and the installers left a lot of dirt in the bottom. It took running this robot 4 times total over the course of a week to get all the dirt but it got all of it and the water was crystal clear. I just had my pool deck power washed so now the pool is really dirty again. I ran the robot last night back to back and it cleaned a lot of the dirt out. I will just keep running it until the pool is clean again. I would recommend this robot to anyone!

This vacuum does exactly what it says it’s going to do. I can be sitting in my house and turn it on I know that it’s going to clean my pool thoroughly. We got it late in the season and I’m now getting ready to close up my pool but I couldn’t be happier with what I’ve seen so far

Love the vacuum it works great but, the power cord that runs from the vacuum to the panel it terrible and poorly designed. I have only had my vacuum for 5 months and the cord is all twisted up and sticky. It will not straighten out and feels like someone has put glue all over the cord. I truly feel this is a manufacturer error or defect.

First, the product review. After owning THREE Aquabot Turbos over the last ten years, and noticing the quality falling off, I decided to make a change. First day of use, and I'm already liking it much better than the Aquabot. What I like: - Build quality is solid. - Top-load filter is easy to remove, replace. - Filter panels (no diaper). - Well thought-out filter basket design, super easy to clean and remove panels. - Fantastic power unit - compact, lightweight, modern, no bulky transformer that requires ventilation, no rusting metal. - Cord design seems well planned, so far no tangles and I love the way it plugs into the power unit. Cracked open my pool cover Tuesday - black water. Added chems and ran the filter, water was pretty clear by Thursday. Skimmed the bottom Friday with the net to get some of the debris up, but lots of grime, dirt/sand and pine needles, worms, etc. left on the bottom. Triton PS arrived on Friday. Super easy setup and dropped it in the pool. Within two hours the pool bottom and sides were super clean. Had to empty/clean the basket six times over that period. Pretty nasty but cleaned right up. First run or two the basket got full and bogged the unit down pretty quickly - couldn't climb the walls. I started with one two-minute run, then cleaned the filter. Then a ten-minute run, then cleaned, then a 20-minute run...etc. The unit does not appear to like stairs, and as far as I could tell it did a good job of avoiding them. Much better than the Aquabot that seemed fixated on them - no matter what direction I started it in, it quickly made a beeline for them. Got stuck on them for hours, grinding down the rubber tracks. I swear the Triton appears to *find* dirt. It goes along, stops, reverses, turns, heads straight to a dirty spot, hits it, reverses back over it, turns and heads to another dirty spot. And this brings me to my one BIG complaint: insufficient documentation. The cleaner appears to have some sort of sensor on it, and I believe they call it "CleverClean Technology". But good luck finding any information on what that is, or how it works. Can't even find simple information like which filter is for fine debris and which is for coarse (the unit comes with both sets). The box contains an FAQ that states the "Spring" filters (installed at the factory) are for coarse debris, and the "corrugated" filters (separate in the box) are for fine debris. So I used the corrugated ones since I had dirt/sand in the pool. But after cleaning the bottom my pool water is cloudy because the unit was spitting out fine particles. Did I use the wrong filter? The website has no better info, and consists mostly of annoying video shorts with music. In one of the videos, they show the corrugated filters as being for coarse materials, and the "Spring" filters for fine. So yeah, thanks for the consistent "documentation". One other complaint. When cleaning the filters (at least the corrugated ones), you can't do it the way they show in their videos and "documentation". You have to open the bottom of the basket and use powerful jet spray on the inside. But it cleans up pretty quickly. My complaint is that when doing this, the unit seems designed to shoot the water stream out the bottom and right back at you, soaking your ankles and shoes. All in all, I'm super happy with this cleaner after a day of heavy usage.

Waited 3 month before reviewing. Purchasing this thing was a kick in the wallet gonads at first. But if you have ever owned a pool and know how much you have to do to keep up with maintenance then buy this and buy it now. It has saved me SO MUCH TIME. I did lots of research. So let's address any negative reviews. Main complaint is the power supply early death. I am an aerospace engineer and can guarantee you the 95 % of negative reviews about the power supply failing are user errors. Rule number 1, DO NOT LEAVE THE POWER SUPPLY IN THE SUN. Especially when it's just a basic power supply with low cooling capacity. I noticed this immediately, the power supply can overheat easily if left in the sun. I've had no problems with mine at all. Functionally this thing is amazing. There's multiple stage filters, mine came with a fine and coarse particle size. I haven't even used the fine yet. Rule two, you can leave this thing in the water for a while, but clean the cartridge immediately after you remove it from the water. Takes like 4 minutes to clean it, super easy. But if you don't, and you have debris like a palm fronde in there, when it dries it gets hard and can tear the membrane. That's not a design flaw, that's a laziness flaw. AI control. Obviously the company doesn't disclose it's algorithms but it clearly maps out the pool. It has what looks like an optical sensor on the front. What I've noticed is it tends to go after settled debris first. Makes sense, dark spots are easy to locate. Once it collects anything noticably large on the bottom it looks like it goes through pattern mapping. If I drop it in the pool from different spots it tends to take similar routes along the pool. No matter where I send it, it takes a b line for the deep end. Cleaning. It's awesome. It's just awesome at it. My pool is large so I have to run 2 cycles back to back. It climbs all the way up to the water line and has this cool propulsion feature that engages to keep pressure with the wall. The impeller is really strong, I can see the vortex on the surface even under 9 ft of water. Nobody has made a robot capable of getting the stairs, sorry y'all, you're just gonna have to do that manually. Mine has climbed them a few times but the geometry and size of steps in relation to the robot...can't do it. But, takes me about 30 seconds to sweep any algea on the steps up into the main water where my pump gets it. There's not remote control on this one. After spending nearly 1000 on this, I don't dare leave it in the water over night. But I only use it one day a week. That's all it needs. If you can set your skimmer to fire more frequently to prevent settling then you can cancel the pool buy. For real this thing is worth it. Kicking myself for not having bought it sooner.

I bought this robot cleaner after not having much luck with another model that retails for around $250. I wanted something that would scrub the walls and water line to keep algae growth down. The added capacity for leaves in the filter basket is also a huge plus. This cleaner is exceeding expectations. Within a week of adjusting chemistry and buying this robot, my pool is sparkling clean.

I went for the more expensive model (Triton PS) vs the next lower model (about $850) and am happy to have done it. I wanted it to clean the walls and the scumline and that it does! This thing gets 98% of the leaves on the bottom and the scumline on the first pass. The second is a done deal. Easy to use, easy to clean and very effective. Runs for about 1.5 to 2 hours each time. My pool is 15x30'. Plenty of electrical cable and it has a swivel to reduce but not eliminate tangles. Negatives: seems the controls can only be set for one week?! No Wifi or Bluetooth to control or monitor with my phone. Uses random pattern for each session. Overall love, love it. Does the job.

This is so easy to use and it cleans like a charm! All we need to do is brush a little bit in the corners of the stairs entering the pool

This pool cleaner works well for medium to small objects. However, you need to run the cleaner several times. Although if grass clippings manage to settle on the bottom you will need to break out your manual vacuum kit. Additionally, we have to run this pool cleaner up to five times any time we have any wind.

This was our first few days with the robot. We had never had a pool before so we didn't know what to expect. Our pool was filthy. It's in mid construction, but we can use it. Unfortunately we get lots of dirt in the pool. This little bot did a great job of cleaning it up. We could see the track marks as it made its way through the pool. It took several runs to get the pool about 95% clean. There are a few spots that it missed which I'm sure it would clean with additional runs. This does illustrate that the bot will not hit every spot, every time. But with it's intended use, over time, I have no doubt that it will ultimately get every spot. once the pool is clean it will effectively maintain it. The suction on this bot is great. You can see the exhaust at the surface and appears to have side jets to propel it sideways as it cleans the waterline. It climbs wall effectively, and even gets up the stairs but is ineffective at cleaning them. It's just physically too wide to get suction to the steps. We had no issues with cord tangling, but we unroll the cord instead of pulling apart coils. This keeps the cord flat and reduces cord tangling, and easily reaches all corners of the pool (20x40 rectangle) when starting it from a corner. We have had about 8 runs so far, and only once did it get stuck on one of the pool drains. Clean up is very easy. Rinse the bot, take out the basket and spray down the filter panels, and it's all set. The instructions are very lacking. I still don't know what some of the buttons on the control panel do. But with that said, the instructions are good enough to have the bot cleaning within 10 minutes. Also be aware that this comes with 2 sets of basket filters. One set with a fine mesh, a one set with a corrugated particulate filter. It took me some time to realize that these are not used simultaneously. Had the documentation been more thorough I would have given 5 stars. Also, would be good to consider a caddy. With the long cord, bot, and power controller, it can be a little cumbersome transporting it all around. Last, try not to store it sitting flat. It can bend the rubber cleaning fins making it ineffective. I use 2 small boards that sit under the tracks, leaving the fins untouched. I hope this helps.

I freakin love this robot. The perils of pool ownership have become much more palatable since I got it. For context, this is my first pool robot; this unit replaced my old Kreepy Krauly about a year ago. This is so much better than a pressure driven pool vacuum for several reasons. First, this unit uses perhaps 1/5th the electricity (per hour) of a pressure driven device. (At my electricity rates, that’s over $100/year savings at 3 hours/day of use. But unlike the Kreepy Krauly, you don’t need to use this every day.) Second, it systematically cleans the pool instead of just randomly “roaming;” this means you need to run it for less time to get the whole pool covered. Lastly, it’s not just a vacuum. It’s brushes the pool as it cleans. If the robot it scrubbing, it means that I’m not. Hell, sometimes I’ll sit by the pool and drink a beer watching it work. It’s mesmerizing in a weird kind of way. Sometimes I’ll run it even if the pool looks clean. And it still picks stuff up and the pool appears yet more clean when it’s done. And it moves lots of water while it’s working - you can see the water boiling up from the suction even when it’s in the deep end. I’ll often run it simultaneously with the filter pump after adding chemicals to mix it up really well. Also, the mesh basket captures surprisingly small particles of debris. I’m sure this is extending my time between filter services. Ok, so I only gave it 4 stars. Here’s why: my pool is curved, and the scrubbers seem to miss the concave areas sometimes. This means I have to brush the pool sides every now and then. (Worlds smallest violin playing.) Maybe that’s not fair; after all, it was my fault getting a weird curvy shaped pool. But don’t lots of pools have curves? Second, some app connectivity with the controller Via Bluetooth or WiFi would be nice. Even expected. Now, I realize that I could have bought a more expensive model and gotten that. But in a world where $20 kids toys have connectivity, it seems like it should be standard on a device of this price point. The up charge they’re asking for this feature reminds me of highway robbery. (Okay, that’s an exaggeration, but you see the point, I’m sure.) The bottom line is that this thing has given me back hours of my life. Instead of brushing the pool manually once or twice a week, I do it maybe once every two weeks. The pool looks great and I’m certain it’s extending my filter service intervals by capturing a lot of debris that would otherwise go into the filter. Dare I say: if you’re still using a pressure vacuum thingie, you’re doing it wrong.

Using for 4 years now and still working well. I did have the cable replaced because of tangles. The new cable came with a swivel and that help but the cable still tangles sometimes. Stretching the cable out in the sun for a day or two helps with the tangles for a few weeks. The robotic is heavy when you pull it out of the water with the basket full of dirt and leaves.

The media could not be loaded. Like the easy to clean top load basket. Love the phone app and cleaning schedule options and manual cleaning options. Price is inline with other Dolphin pool sweeper models.

I have owned several cleaners. This Triton replaces my second Hayward Tigershark. The Tigershark cleans well, but in my experience they hold together for about 4 years, and the necessary maintenance of changing the internal drive belts is exceptionally complex, and physically difficult. I finally had had enough, and I began to explore alternatives. Last season I decided to try a brand cleaner with external belts, which I expect are easier to access for periodic replacement, and without an overhead swing arm. Thus far, after several months of use, I am pleased with this cleaner. Pickup is fair to good. Wall climb is fair to good. Cleaning the filter is easy. Operation is simple. The two reasons I cannot give this machine 5 stars are (1) Fine material pickup is poor. If for example a bit of soil or dirt or sand or DE gets into your pool, the Triton will merely stir it. The Triton comes with two sets of filters, one set for fine substances, another for material such as leaves or evergreen needles. After numerous uses I find the fine filters to be ineffective. Ironically, the more often you clean them, the less effective they are. To keep a clean pool you'll often need to use your filter vac hose to get fine material (2) The impeller jams easily. If your Triton stalls after a few seconds of operation, it is likely that a twig or leaf is the problem. It is easy to access and clean the impeller, but the fact that just about anything will jam it reflects the fact that relative to other cleaners I have owned, it seems to lack suction power. Durability will be the essential test, but so far, I am pleased enough to give it a 3.5, which I round up to 4. September 2021 update : In early August I purchased the Micro Pre-Filter Insert, Maytronics part 9983106, which costs about $60.00. It is a supplemental filter which sits inside the filters which come standard with the unit. I was seeking a solution to the poor pickup of fine material. The addition of this supplemental filter has greatly improved pickup of all material, to include leaves. In my opinion, if you own this machine, you need to own and to use the Micro Pre-Filter Insert. Late August 2022 update: This machine has performed well this season. I run it probably 7 times a week, one basic cycle. I am impressed with how well it does with hemlock needles, and light wall algae. I continue to use the supplemental filter at all times.

We got our Dolphin about a year ago and have had no issues. Cleans great and so much better than our former Polaris. My only complaint is that you can't leave it on a 7-day schedule for cleaning and it's not wifi (but I knew those things when I bought it). The dolphin recently had a problem where I couldn't select the weekly schedule, so every time I turned it on the board recognized me as not picking a selection so it would clean for 2 hours then shut off. Total pain and I had to turn it on every day. Called customer service and here it is the power supply issue. They are sending one out free of charge. The whole call took about 10 minutes tops. Amazing customer service and we are happy since we really do love this cleaner. We changed from a Polaris and what a difference-Dolphins clean walls and steps so well! Well worth the price tag in our opinion. I highly recommend this product!

Despite reading a number of reviews that said the unit would only run 10-20 minutes before shutting off, I decided to take a chance since this has over 1400 reviews and a 4-start rating. Some of those reviews were a few years old, and surely they would have fixed the issue by now. Well, same thing happened to me. Runs 10-20 minutes then stops. Tried several times, same result, then gave up for the night. This morning I tried again, and this time it ran for less than a minute before shutting off. I called Maytronics morning, and was pleasantly surprised to reach a real person in only a few minutes. She was very helpful and said that sometimes the motor shifts during shipping, and that I could fix it myself. They have a video showing how to do it, or I could send it in and they would fix it for me. It took all of 5 minutes and it fixed the problem. You don't have to have any great DIY skills; if you can identify the business end of a Philips screwdriver you can do this. Remove 2 screws and lift off the top cover, then remove 2 screws that hold the motor assembly in place. As I loosened the motor screws I heard something pop back into place. Unit works like a champ so far. I'm giving this 4 stars because this shouldn't have happened in the first place, and after several years whatever manufacturing defect or design issue should have been corrected by now. A product ought to withstand the process of being shipped. There was no evidence of rough handling or damage on the box, and the contents were packed securely. So far it's running fine and appears to be doing a good job of cleaning. Will update if things change after I've used it for a while.

Two friends have this robot and said it is the best thing they’ve purchased in years… well, like many others here, my robot didn’t work on day one. I tried to troubleshoot it and still had issues. The robot would work for a few minutes before shutting off. Over. And over. I took the advice of many others and contacted Maytronics directly. They quickly sent me a RMA label so I could send the unit back. I was under the impression they would send me a new one when they got notice I was sending my old one back, but that is not the case. Now I’m waiting for Maytronics to “diagnose” the unit and contact me. I should’ve sent it back but I saw the horror stories of dealing with this BackyardPool so went for what I thought would be the easier route. This has been quite the poor experience and I’d recommend looking at other brands before purchasing this robot.

Works great, way easier to clean then the Hayward it replaced

Read reviews that some buyers had issues after first time use and hoped I didn't because I read many good reviews, but I didn't have luck. Placed in my pool today and stops working after 25 minutes. So, I took out and tried 3 more times, but every time it worked for about 25 minutes instead of the 2 hours. Will be calling service tomorrow to give them the benefit of the doubt but if it's defective I'm returning this Triton PS. Will update review after the call. Update. Called customer service after registering the product online. So the rep told me to get a Phillips screwdriver in order to open the unit with an instructional YouTube link in order to readjust the motor to put in place. It took me 3 minutes and it fixed the unit. They say during shipping the motor gets jolted and out of place🤷🏻‍♂️. Up to now its cleaning very well. Will update by end of week.

This is our third summer (wife’s amazon account) with our pool - and I decided that paying someone to vacuum my pool every week was a waste of money even my pool guy said I should get a robot. Tons of research later I decided on this the dolphin Triton PS What a great machine! I opted for the NON Bluetooth version of this model.... I am a tech guy.. but I can never imagine wanting to steer this around. Bottom line this does a great job. It comes with two sets of filters with one set already installed... the installed one was a fine filter screen - and works great. I couldn’t believe how much this little workaholic picked up the first few days.... I didn’t even know that much was on the bottom of my pool. After the initial day (i tan it three times) once a day does the trick. Now there are questions as to wether or not you can keep the robot submerged all the time.... and i think the answer is you probably shouldn’t. But others have written here that they have. If you take it out you should rinse with clean water. I have a 20x40 gunnite pool - - 3 feet shallow end 10 feet @ deep end. - chlorine with a DE filter- - three small steps at the shallow end and a step - small bench next to the spa. Cleans all surfaces no problem. Climbs the walls and as per the video scrubs the tile at the water end with no problem. minor complaints : while the cord that attaches to the controller is long enough to allow the robot to clean all four corners of the pool, it does get twisted. Not quite sure if that’s my error or if the anti twisting mechanism isn’t working correctly. The controller itself does allow for you to leave it in the pool and have it run once a day. Sometimes however i find i have to run another cycle.... i wish i had the option to allow it to run for longer. These are minor complaints. Update: 2 months in and I will criticize the cord - it does tangle and it’s a pain. I find myself untangling the cord after taking it out of the pool. Surprised that this happens...

Works great. Put it in and let it work. When it is done the pool is clean. The only minor issue is that it sometimes misses a few corners

It has a tendency to get stuck on a drain. I have to drag it off. It continues on on it's way then.

Now that's it's been almost two years since I purchased this cleaner I can honestly say it's the best one we've owned in the 20 plus years since we put the pool in. I waited till now to write a review of it so I could see if it was the right decision in buying it. It is very easy to operate. Just plug it in, put it in the pool and turn it on. That's it! When it's done with it's cycle, all you have to do is use the hose to clean out the filter and body and your ready for it's next use. For use it is really that simple. We have not had any issues with it. Great product!!

This pool vacuum was far better than the 15-year-old vacuum that it replaced. Suction is good and it climbs the walls like a pro. I have now had the vacuum for two years. It is difficult to keep the cord straight. The cord seems to be deteriorating a bit, with a sticky substance on it. The biggest issue, though, is the power supply, which completely failed after just 2 years. Completely dead. After spending over $1,000 to purchase this product, I am not happy having to purchase a new power supply box at the cost of $300-$400. Sorry, Dophin, this is not acceptable.

I received the Triton PS a week ago to replace an older Dolphin DX3. I've run the Triton PS 3 times now, and it has not covered my entire pool a single time. Our pool is 20'x40' and 9 feet deep at it's deepest point. The Triton PS does a phenomenal job of cleaning the parts it covers, but I think the cycle is not long enough to cover the entire pool. At least two things contribute to its inadequacy. 1) It appears to move slower than the DX3 did, and 2) the time it spends scrubbing the waterline takes away from the time my old cleaner spent on the bottom where the dirt is. I think the default 2-hour cycle is simply not long enough, even though it is rated for a 50' pool. In a smaller pool I think it would be amazing! The basket, which comes with standard AND ultra-fine filter screens, is a huge improvement over the bag on the DX3. The cord on the Triton PS is thinner than on the DX3, but it seems to be more dense and probably more resistant to abrasion. One thing that is not clear in the description of the Triton PS is that it does not "learn" your pool as I believe the DX3 did. The information that comes with it explains that each time you put the Triton in the pool it "scans" the pool. This is somewhat beneficial in that it doesn't matter where you put it into the pool or from where it starts a cycle if you've left it in the pool and programmed it to run automatically. This could also be beneficial if you had more than one pool to clean like some hotels or if you and a relative or neighbor wanted to share the pool cleaner. However, I think this could also be contributing to its inability to cover my entire pool. I have called and emailed Maytronics, the company that makes the Dolphin Pool Cleaners, but have not had any luck. I was on hold for about 20 minutes waiting to talk to someone. Once I got a CSR on the phone, I explained my situation, and was put on hold so they could ask someone about my issues. After 25 minutes on hold with no response, I decided to send an email to the company while I was on hold. THEY NEVER PICKED UP AGAIN, and they have not responded to my email. After I finished my email and 41 minutes after I was put on hold, I hung up. I could give the Triton PS a 5-star review if Maytronics would resolve this issue. Right now I'd give Maytronics' customer service negative four stars!

I love everything about it. The suction, remote n east to clean.

Easy to use and very efficient. 2 hours to clean our 18x40’ pool. Secure threaders attachment to power source. Easy to remove and clean filter basket.

The pool cleaner we had got struck by lightning and no longer worked. This was a replacement and is the same kind that we already had. Our remote was no longer working and this one is great, everything works and it does a great job.

This item, the Dolphin Triton PS, works really well at cleaning my ridiculously large pool. The only problem I have is with the VERY misleading description on Amazon, possibly written by the seller BackyardPoolSuperstore, I really don't care who wrote it but the description is TOTALLY MISLEADING! The unit itself works ok, but the controller is prohibited from many options, and the Dolphin phone App will not work. I am very upset but there is nothing I can do about it. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE BUYING! ASK QUESTIONS! I would sue if I thought there was an option but what they are doing is certainly legal, but DISGUSTING!

Cleans our pool perfectly what a great product

Had this for a few months. It does the job. I have a beautiful tree that sheds a lot of leaves. But this guy sucks them all up. Big basket can handle it. Runs smooth most of the time. I leave it in the pool 24/7 since it’s winter. Auto programmed to run every day. Sometimes I give it an extra run. However, keep an eye on it. It can get tangled up at times. It might wrap itself with extra chord. But easy to fix. Just pull it out and straighten out the chord. Sometimes it lingers at the bottom where the drain is. If it does I just restart it. Overall this is much better than those old school crawlers of the past.

Received a DOA unit, the Triton PS Dolphin looks like a nice idea, the plastic, cable & materials are about the same quality as those of my old Dolphin which means they will endure sun and chlorine, albeit loose a little color over time, my last Dolphin worked for 6 years then the motor died and the cable started to have some issues. This new Triton has a larger basket and a convenient top filter load along with a handle that should help getting it out of the water, the bottom of the filter enclosure has a small piece of leather like matherial that should help preventing dirt from going back into the pool when pulling it out of the water, the filter compartment handle is a little stiff, the power supply is also smaller than the old ones and has some additional functions for scheduling the lights on it are much brighter, the Triton has side tracks which should be an improvement as other dolphin models can leave temporary black plastic marks on the gunite, but that's all I can review as my unit couldn't be used at all, it just didn't run . This unit was supposed to be New, but alas it was broken, which makes a person wonder... What is Maytronics QA process?, what about BackyardPoolSuperstore seller practices?. Clearly this was not our fault yet so far we are out of $181.24 + time, gas, energy, etc... (*UPDATE: Amazon saves the day in the end*) At the time of purchase Amazon's Page said NOTHING about a restocking fee, it read: 'Price: $849.00 & FREE Returns Pay $47.17/month for 18 months, interest-free with your Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card This item is returnable' If I click on Item is returnable it takes me to an amazon policy which won't mention anything like that. So the store policy was hidden or didn't have clear access to it and because of this we were abused, if I knew the real policy I would have never ordered a $901 item from BackyardPoolSuperStore So... We requested a return the very same day and sent the unit back within less than 24 hours after receiving it, NO warning was given about an additional charge or other options if we continued with the return, how convenient for them. We carefully repackaged the item with every bag, manual, filter, protection, clean & resealed without damage, the return sticker was carefully placed not to mark the box, item was really unused since it just couldn't be used for it's purpose at all, unit will just not run. A few days later BackyardPoolSuperstore refunded $181.24 less than what we paid (including taxes). So for a DOA unit we got back only $719.81 out the of $901.05 that we paid and much dissapointment & trouble. BackyardPoolSuperStore says 'we believe in customer satisfaction'...blah..'making sure your experience with us is not only good, but the best!'... Well I am not satisfied at all, and this is closer to a worst experience for me, they do care about how to make some money from you however, with excesive charges and a one-sided policy IMO. They will try to justify this under an arguable hidden policy, I never saw it since the amazon page won't mention it, sellers policy should be displayed clearly and the site & seller communications be more upfront about it, why not make it a part of the selling points or maybe a headline?. This unfair practice can inflict damages upon a customer which acts in good faith, their practices can leave you, the customer open to economic and/or moral loss. Please be warned, think before giving them business especially for high price items. Also Maytronics DOA?, really?, much dissapointed. Update... Amazon saves the day!. After all of this happened I was able to reach out Amazon and explain the situation, they got my back and started a process to refund the remaining balance, the total amount will be divided in smaller refunds but the important part is that they stood by the customer and that's why I really love amazon and also why they are successful. Thanks Amazon!

The media could not be loaded. I couldn't wait for this to come because I hate using the filter vacuum for my pool. But when it came I put it in the pool turned it on and it was awesome for 15 minutes and then just stopped. So cleaned the basket and started it again. This time it only ran for 5 minutes , so I reset it again and only ran for 5 minutes. Very frustrating.. so i was panicking i thought I was gonna have to return it and I didn't want to. So I called the manufacturer. The lady I spoke to was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. She knew how to help me right away. She said that sometimes from shipping the robots motors get disengaged so i was just going to have to click it back into place. She sent me a very short video on how to do that and it was very simple and now the robot vacuum runs like a dream!! And keeps running for 2.5-3 hours per cycle. It climbs and scrubs walls with ease and easily goes right over my security ledge all the way around my pool. And the suction is unbelievable. I'm extremely happy with this purchase besides the big scare I had when I received the vacuum.

This was highly recommended to me but after buying it and running it for a week I don’t know that I can fully recommend it. The unit seems to work as intended but this non Bluetooth version doesn’t work with the scheduler. I uploaded a video that you can watch above. Basically the controller turns on and you can pick 1 of 3 schedules. Regardless of what you pick, the control unit will turn off sometime within the 24 hours so when the next day comes around, the unit isn’t even on to start the schedule. It seems like the controller needs to be illuminated 24/7 at all times so the scheduler can run but it can’t because the unit cuts off. I really wish they would fix this major flaw as I’d prob give it a 5 star rating after seeing how it cleans. Unfortunately my main reason for buying this was to schedule it to clean my pool when I leave town for 7-30 days. I can’t even get it to schedule for casual use when I am home and just want it to clean every other day or every 3rd day.

Cleans the side and walls of pool great. You must purchase the ultra fine filter separately, but it has made my pool cleaning so much easier.

So worried price point would not be worth it but my husband works a lot and I have two small children and I want to be able to enjoy the pool on his days off instead of cleaning it! This works awesome and other than skimming the top a little we aren’t pool cleaners all summer! Yay!

This vacuum is great. My pool has trees all above it.. so I have this running 2-3 times a day. Down side-You have to make sure the battery box stays dry, and we keep getting hair stuck in the gears.

I purchased this the end of April. It does not have remote capability; however, even with my unusual pool bottom, the Triton PS does a great job of cleaning my inground vinyl-lined pool. I highly recommend buying the caddy and cover. This cleaner does not weigh as much as some others; but is still heavy enough that I need the caddy to move it from the pool area to my garage where I store the cleaner. Instructions call for protecting the unit from extreme heat; and we have had some very hot days. I put the cover on the caddy while the unit is cleaning the pool. The Triton PS is very easy to clean. For the first time, I had algae in my pool. The fine filter that comes with the Triton PS that comes with the unit does not work to clean up algae. I purchased the ultra fine filter (I bought the entire basket; but you can buy just he filters); and after shocking my pool and adding algae killer/preventer, the Triton ultra fine filter did a great job cleaning the pool. Update. I like this cleaner so much I bought a second one in case this breaks down. I purchased the warranty and take very good care of the cleaner; but with supply shortages and the time it would take for repairs, I really cannot be without the cleaner. I still strongly suggest that you purchase the ultra-fine filter/basket because you will need it if you are using this to clean the pool at the beginning of the season. I clean out all of the leaves; but my pool is open all winter so gets some dirt/sand in the bottom. This filter does the job. My only regret is that I didn't buy the remote-controlled cleaner the second time because my pool has a very unusual bottom; but considering that, this cleaner does the job.

This pool cleaner is exactly as advertised. It cleans our pool beautifully. It climbs the walls with power and cleans above the water line. It has some difficulty with rounded corners but I knew that when I bought it. Love this product.

I replaced my 6 yo Triton with this robot. On the + side it's lighter, compact, has a top loading basket, and the filters are easy to clean. I like the vectored thrust feature when cleaning about the water line. On the - side it just wonders around like my old Triton so it misses places. It has only a two hour run time vs three hour for my old Triton so I have to run it twice to get a thorough cleaning. And the wall cleaning isn't that great as it only goes about 6 or 8 feet before it submerges so a lot gets missed. Also it doesn't come with the algae filters so there's another $50+. And as other reviews have noted it will just stop for no apparent reason. Too late for me but for the extra $200 or so I'd go with a higher end robot. UPDATE: Ok I've had this for a couple of seasons and it's not what I expected. It gets stuck on the bottom drains and the steps. And it's not very effective on leaves; just stirs them from the bottom. I have to run it two sometime three times to get all the leaves. Yes it's lighter than my old Triton and the water drains out faster making recovery easier. But as I said earlier for the money it's not very much of an upgrade.

I absolutely love this little guy….his name is Skipper. I used it for the first time today…my pool and the spa are super clean now! I will never use the pool filter to vacuum ever again. It was clean in 3 hours, walls and floor. It does not go up all of the steps but it did do the first step. Truly a time saver for me. Descent suction power and the filter was easy to rinse out. My pool was installed in September and the concrete was poured in October and there were still concrete pebbles that I couldn’t get with a skimmer or my standard pool vacuum but skipper got the job done in no time at all! I super happy with it.

I did not receive a remote control. Was one supposed to be in the box?

UPDATE: I called customer support as the comment below suggested. It really didn't change anything. There is another review (with pics) that looks like they have the same issue. Short answer: you will have to run it almost continually if you want it to cover your pool. --- I had a Polaris 950 for the last 4 years and after excellent service, it was time to replace. I wanted to get some thing different because 1) I the basket was small and designed to blow out when there was too much sediment in it and 2) the thing didn’t have an anti-tangle cord and took about three times as many lefts as it did rights. I settled on the Triton PS because I never really used my remote control, liked the basket design, two scrubbers, and the anti tangle cord. Positives 1) It’s really powerful. I mean it scoured away spots that the aging Polaris wouldn’t. 2) The basket design is 10x better. It’s big and sturdy while still catching fine sediment. 3) The cord is decently anti-tangle. The Negatives 1) The clean programs are too simple. On the Polaris, I could choose speed, if I wanted it to climb walls, go fast or slow. All I can really do with this one is run it on a 3 hour cycle, or chose to have it run daily. The recurring clean isn’t really a great idea because you have to empty the canister so you don’t build up too much back pressure. 2) It’s DUMB. I mean, DUMB. My pool, is about 50 feet, so its a decent size. It is infuriating watching the thing go 10 feet. Stop. Back up 10 feet. Stop. Pivot 15 degrees and repeat. It won’t make a single pass of my pool before turning around. That means I need to run this thing almost constantly, and it STILL ignores entire sections of the pool. In retrospect, I probably should have sprung for one where I can use a remote to guide it, but that seems like a lot of extra work. Look, it works really well mechanically, but you are going to be frustrated by the big stripes of debris other vacuums won’t leave.

Good stuff: Does mostly good job picking up leaves and small debris. Plastic body and inside collection basket are all good workmanship. Length of floating power cord and connection mechanics are well thought out. Bad stuff: After only using for 4 months, I see rust build up on all of steel screws. I only keep this in pool for usually 48 hours, every 2 weeks so this is very surprising. I don't live near coastline and always wash and dry before storing in a outdoor chest storage. This will be a big pain a year later if I ever want to replace any parts as all screws will be severely rusted by then. Why can't they use corrosion free screws? I have Hayward check valves with 10 years direct sunlight and water exposure but they look super shiny. Belt wheel already showing great deal of wear so most likely this will be a "replace every year" problem. I expected a better mileage on these expensive parts. Unit has no intelligence and keeps getting stuck when it hovers over the drain piping. Very annoying and just keep spinning one place which also not good for the belt wheel. Control is too simple and wish I had more options to control length of the cycle time. The standard 2 hour is not good enough and I have to keep coming back to manually start again. For a simple, Bluetooth app upgraded option costs extra $200 which is insane mark up. For a $900 investment, I expected more. I am very surprised this unit is rated so high.

I waited so long to purchase a robot vac...10 years. I researched for a very long time before I took the plunge on this Triton. The first one I ordered would not move, contacted Maytronics, had to send it to them and they sent me a new one. The new one works great. It doesn’t get everything every time. Sometimes I run it twice, and sometimes I’m able to guide with Bluetooth to get what it missed, which usually isn’t a lot. So far we are about 2 weeks into using, I like it! I am pleased with Maytronics except for they have long wait times on the phone, but it is summer. Backyard Poolstore was very responsive when I contacted them with concern I was afraid of going over my 30 day return window, and if the 2nd one didn’t work I wanted my money back. I was impressed at their response but fortunately did not have to go that route! I saw many good reviews that’s why I purchased and decided to spring for the Bluetooth. There were mixed reviews on the Bluetooth, it is a little quirky, but it to me is definitely worth not having to get the pool vac out to get a few areas it might have missed, what would have been the point in the robots purchas? Looking forward to this little robot being my little helper the rest of the summer so I can spend more time enjoying the pool instead of cleaning it! I would definitely buy this again and with the Bluetooth, it’s a nice little extra!

The media could not be loaded. This robot has done a great job with our pool and exceeded expectations. It has picked up things I had thought would have been too difficult, all the way from sand to some large pieces of plastic left behind on the pool by our home’s previous owner. There was literally no set up. After unboxing the robot, all I did was plug in the base unit to power and plug the robot into that then hit go. Right away the robot started doing its thing. Our pool was absolutely filthy when we threw this in and we couldn’t be happier with how well it has cleaned up the bottom. The debris bin is also very easy to clean. The filters easily snap in and out and the bottom snaps open so everything can be quickly hosed off and snapped back together. The only reason I deducted a star is the base unit/remote control. I would like to see feedback about what the robot is doing, how much time is left, or when it is scheduled to run again. I think the remote has been simplified so much that it actually winds up being a detriment. I didn’t buy the Triton with Bluetooth connectivity but the base unit appears to be a common, generic unit shared across multiple models. The base unit has Bluetooth and allows you to connect using the app before telling you that it can’t communicate with the robot. I hate to end on a negative note for what I think is a great robot. It’s well worth the investment and I haven’t had any issues with it!

I had an older model of Maytronics Dolphin robotic pool cleaner with a filter bag. That bag was really hard to clean. This new model came with major improvement: removable filter basket. Cleaning this robot is no longer a huge task taking more time than cleaning the pool itself. Washing filters is now a breeze. And this might be the single best feature of this robotic pool cleaner. Cleaner comes with 2 sets of removable filters: fine (plastic mesh) and superfine (pleated filter, similar to HEPA vacuum filter). Fine filter is good enough to pickup smallest debris from your pool. It just can's keep dust and finest powder left after chlorinating the pool. So when you need to clean your pool from leafs, buds, flowers, bugs, etc. fine filter will do a good job. For crystal clear results you will need a superfine filter set. That one picks up even the fine dust from the bottom of your pool. And as I already mentioned, after you remove your robot from the pool, you just need to open the top cover, remove the filter basket with all debris picked up by the cleaner, detach those filters and rinse them with water. Also, unlike the older model, new Triton does not spit picked up debris back into the pool. This was a big problem for the old model. Now commenting on negative reviews here. Those guys are probably right. This robotic cleaner is not perfect. My pool is relatively small and shallow and it has a non-standard curvy shape. And even I have to agree with some other guys here: Triton may skip an area during its 2 hours cleaning cycle. It does not have a well setup cleaning pattern, so some areas are cleaned multiple times, while others may be skipped. It does not clean curvy areas well and gets confused by curved walls. It does climb walls and scrubs the waterline, but while on the curve that is pretty useless, since its brush doesn't even reach curved wall. So if your pool is big and mostly curved, it might be difficult for this robot to clean it well. Also if you are expecting a perfect result from this little guy, you may be disappointed. But there is one important thing: it works while you enjoy a beer and a football game on your TV. And you can't beat that. If you are not 100% happy with the result of its original cleaning, throw him back into the pool. He's not tired and won't charge you overtime. So it may take 4 hours before you see your pool perfectly clean, but it won't be your 4 hours. And that is what I love the most about this robot.

UPDATE 06/02/2022 Just wanted to update I had no issues with refund from backyard pool superstore so that was nice. I ended up buying another dolphin nautilus cc and have been happy so far. Actually that unit had a control box that died after first use but vendor sent me a replacement. So far so good don’t think I will spend a lot of money on one of these QC seems bad on these units. Well what can I say. I read the bad reviews here and just prayed I wouldn’t suffer the same fate. There were many good reviews as well. I was pretty impressed when I opened the unit up. I had a dolphin nautilus cc before this and while he didn’t do his job perfectly he did a pretty good job before the motor died after 5 years. This is unfortunately a pretty typical lifespan for these units from what I have read. I hate vacuuming and needed a new unit. This appeared to be the slightly upgraded model. Upon opening the box unit looked good, nicer cord. Bigger basket with some sock like thingy on the port. 2 rollers instead of one. Put it to work right away as the pool was a bit dirty. Was impressed with it the first few minutes it was running. Sadly after about 5 minutes the robot just stopped. This is what my old one kind of did once the motor had given up. I unplugged the control box and robot, waited a few minutes and hooked everything back up. Started it up again hoping this was just a fluke. Again after a little over 5 minutes the robot just stopped. The control unit button stayed lit up blue but the robot was bit moving. Pressuring the button off and back on did nothing. I checked a few things after searching online but the impeller did not appear to be seized up (the thing is brand new for crying out loud). Tried it a few times by unplugging everything for a few minutes with the same result. I don’t know who to blame but looking at how many other 1 star reviews have similar issues I have to think there may be some sort of quality control issue at maytonics. I am sending the unit back but now don’t look forward to perhaps having some issues with this restocking fee others have referenced with backyard superstore. I will update the review with the results of returning the unit. Such a disappointment and I really liked the features of this unit but am scared to try another one. I also don’t want to spend a ton of money on a more expensive unit after reading many will only last a year or two. I just want to put this review out there to warn others of issues with brand new doa units. Also this unit got stuck on the drain in the brief times it was working, an issue that plagued our old model as well..

I have had automatic pool cleaners before, but this one has exceeded my expectations! I love it! It cleans amazing and so easy to clean with the pull out top container! Love it! Stongly recommend! 10 stars!

When we got this, it did not have the ultra fine filters and did not vacuum up fine dirt etc. in the pool. Buying the ultra fine filters (another $100) made all the difference though. It does a good job once we changed out the filters.

Have been using robot for 1 year and a half daily so far. Robot has worked flawlessly so far with the exception of the cord. The cord tangles daily. One of the main reasons I bought it was because it had the untangling feature, but since new it never worked. Contacted customer support and they require customers to pay shipping costs to have product shipped to company ($45) without any warranty that they will fix the issue. For a product this expensive I was expecting better. The main control unit only has the option to clean the pool daily for up to 1 week. I wonder if it was designed this way bc they new that the cord tangles. The robot has a huge container for all the leaves & debris that it can pick up from the pool, but it will only run for 1 week before you have to go again to the main control unit to reset it for another week of daily cleaning. Anyways I have had to go to the main unit daily to disconnect the cable, to then untangle it, and then connect it again. I used to have the Kreepy Crawler before and one of its benefits is that it is working continuously as long as the pump is running. The dolphin does not have this option. It shuts off after it determines it cleaned the entire pool. Kreepy Krawler is half as expensive as the Dolphin. Main reason I bought the Dolphin vs a new Kreepy Krawler was bc of the tile line cleaning which is good, but the tangling of the cable is the biggest gripe I have about it.

The media could not be loaded. We wanted a robot that cleaned up algae, and would cleanup the walls and water line tile on our pool. We found it with this Dolphin! Very easy to clean the filter, and it has no problems climbing our pool walls!

Unfortunately product did not preform as advertised. Returned and upgraded to premier! Dolphin Premier out preformed Triton by far. Well worth the extra expense!!!

My experience started out rough but has turned into a love affair. This cleaner has kept my 30,000 pool sparkling clean all season with very little effort. Much easier and more effective than the style cleaner that uses pool suction. Upon arrival, I was eager for the first cleaning. App and instructions are a bit misleading. All you really need do is take it out of the box, remove the packaging, assemble the control wires, put it into the water, plug into power and push the big button. Be patient. It will sit for a bit but does eventually get down to work. After using for the first season, learned a few tips: 1) attach a separate line to the handle adjacent to the blue control cord. This makes it easy to retrieve the cleaner end of cycle when it sometimes stops middle of the deep end & out of reach. The remote control feature is useless. I cut a pool noodle into segments and threaded through so the line would float for easy reach. Do not lift by the blue control wire! 2) remove and clean the basket after each use. A garden hose works fine. I live in Phoenix AZ where rain is equal parts sand and water. This beauty does a great job gathering up the sand but need to rinse it all off or it turns to cement. No need to remove the filters from the basket each time unless you are switching between the fabric filters to the ultra fine paper. Use the paper if you want to trap fine particles like algae. 3) store up-side-down when out of water. This strategy is simple and keeps the rubber rollers in good operating condition. 4) lift out of the water using the handle then let the water drain before moving further. The cleaner itself is surprisingly light after the water has drained. Don’t personally see a need for the caddy for removal from the pool but might be convenient for storage. 5) LOVE having top access to the basket! Very easy to clean and service.

This guy is the best!!!! I have to say that we have never had one before so I really don’t have anything to compare it to. So, after reading the reviews (before my purchase) I was really skeptical and was afraid I had made a bad choice upon purchasing it. But boy was I wrong!!! This guy does everything they said it would. It picks up even the tiniest of debris, it works all over the pool whereas some people were saying that it cleaned in one specific pattern continually. I was worried about some of the debris that was on the bottom of our pool as we have huge trees surrounding it and after I broke my hip the pool was pretty much neglected over the winter. Therefore it was super dirty! I love the way the unit is so easy to clean......and the filters are tough! We haven’t had any tears or pokes which is amazing! Our pool is over 50 ft long and 33,000 gallons of water so it’s a huge pool and this guys gets it all. He’s not crazy about the walls or the steps but doing those are a far cry from having to do the whole pool with the vacuum. One review said they had trouble with the cord tangling, but we’ve had this for over a month and it hasn’t tangled yet. I just can’t praise Triton enough for the wonderful job they did in designing this unit and for their technology in making such a superb product. We haven’t set up the remote control yet as we like to be there when it is running so I don’t have anything to review there. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants to enjoy their pool time instead of working their pool time. Let him do the work while you relax and enjoy!

My Polaris 280 is such a pain to tune, I haven't been able to get it out of the deep end for the past year despite new wheels and bearings. As you might imagine, the shallow end is gross and covered with algae and leaves from the winter. This robot plows right through the scum and picks up... some of it. It is not filling the basket the way the Polaris could fill its bag with leaves, but it is scrubbing the floor clean and covering 80-90% of the pool with each run. Using just the coarse filters I'm getting about an inch of algae scum and some leaves with each 3 hour cycle. More importantly, it's stirring up the scum so the pool filter can do some work cleaning the water. I don't hate it, but it's not as great as I was led to believe. It is a vast improvement over the Polaris for coverage however. It does lose power pretty quickly as it gets clogged. For a super dirty pool like mine, it would probably be better to clean the basket out every hour instead of every three. It also jams up the turbine pretty easily with hair (my dogs like the pool). I've had to remove hairballs from the turbine after every two passes (my pool is really dirty). Cleaning out the turbine is easy, just two stainless steel screws to remove and then everything else unclips with your fingers. I do worry about cross-threading those screws in the plastic so be careful putting them back in. Once the turbine and basket are cleaned it climbs the walls like new again. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and have run it about eight times in the last couple days trying to get my pool ready for summer.

Received it today and used it for the first time. It is the lightest dolphin I can get. My previous one is dolphin nautilus. It died after about eight years. This one also works but it is hard to open the top lid. It looks so easy in the demo video, but it is really hard to open it. Don’t know why.

I got this vacuum a year ago and it’s still my absolute favorite purchase I’ve ever made since owning a home. Maintaining the pool is one of those jobs I’ve struggled with for the first three years of ownership, never quite able to get it as clean or pretty as i want/ or keep it that way. I almost gave in and financed the fanciest robot vacuum i could find at my local pool supply store, but instead did some online searching and review reading and landed on this baby. I have a pretty big in-ground pool thats custom shaped like an L. This vacuum has literally kept the pool spotless. I turn it on at night before bed and in the morning the floor walls corners etc. are all clean and beautiful. Open the top and the whole basket of gunk and leaves etc comes out, i spray it down with the hose and pop it back in the machine and it’s ready for the next day. A job that used to take me hours and put a huge strain on my filter/pump system, now is effortless and has its own basket completely separate from my pump and filter. Plus it is hundreds of dollars cheaper than through my local store. I did not get the remote control/Bluetooth device and have never once wished i had those options. The vacuum senses the dirty areas on its own and does a complete job without that extra stuff. Do yourself a favor and get one!!! Smartest thing i ever did.

The Triton is a top of the line pool vacuum. I had a little trouble after first purchasing the unit. It would stop working after just a few minutes. Due to the outstanding customer support and tech support at Maytronics (maker of the unit) I was able to get it working properly. The unit crawls the walls, cleans the surface tile, climbs and cleans step and does a wonderful job cleaning the pool floor. It has an easy to remove waste basket. Never gets tangled in the power line. But this gets it's five star rating primarily for the outstanding customer service at Maytronics.

Easy to clean, super fine filters that collect dust from air and a removable basket. Runs by itself or Bluetooth and does not get stuck in corners. Cleans walls like a charm. Saves 90% of personal work of pool cleaning. Does not work in very shallow water less than 18 inches. No extra pump required!

I don't normally write reviews but I felt like for the price of this pool vacuum a review was needed. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before purchasing. I know this is not the most expensive pool vacuum, or the cheapest but for the price we paid, I feel like it could be better. It might be angles of our pool but the dolphin does not clean the corners very well and since it's not 'smart' it just goes wherever along the bottom of the pool, missing debris. It does climb and clean the walls but again, it just random wall climbing, it's not cleaning the entire pool wall every cleaning. Our pool is not that big so it should be able to clean bottom of the entire pool in the 3 hours it's on. After the 2nd use, it was not working so I did some trouble shooting, turns out, debris was in the impeller, which required a screwdriver to take apart to fix. It was an easy fix but annoying to take it apart after only the 2nd use. The basket is nice and large and easy to clean. It is easy to use, plug in, power on and let it do it's thing. Overall, this is way better than hooking up a hose to vacuum. I am happy I don't have to do that anymore, I just wish it cleaned a little more thorough.

Phin does a great job! All I have to do is clean his basket and sweep the bottom from time to time. I recommend getting the storage caddy too. We have a figure 8 pool 40 x 20 with the deep end a bowl configuration to 8’. Phin has no problems with it.

This is a great vacuum for the pool. You can set it and forget it....except you have to make sure you untangle it weekly. It advertises a tangle-free cable, but ours gets so tightly wound that the vacuum can't move. There were several questions that asked about the tangle free cable. It 100% gets tangled and you will have to twist the unit dozens of times to unwind it weekly. It does an excellent job cleaning the pool when it is not tangled. I purchased this model because of the tangle-free cable. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I bought my 'Dolph' so I wouldn't have to go through the trauma of cleaning my pool filter as frequently. The robot is amazingly simple to clean, 2 seconds with a hose on its filter basket, which removes and replaces easily. It does a wonderful job on the sides and waterline of my fiberglass pool, never falls off, and powers through obstacles. It does, however, churn up the water quite a bit with its jet propulsion. Thus any actual dirt lying in the bottom, (which is what I mostly have, with a screen-caged pool) gets churned up, appears to have been cleaned, yet re-appears the next day once the water has settled. That annoyance, and the fact that Dolph incessantly tries to clean my stairs, to no avail, are its only drawbacks. Each cleaning cycle, he moseys over, climbs the stairs, runs in a vertical position fruitlessly for a while, before slinking back down to the bottom. Hmmm, never learns. Overall tho, this robot does a very nice job, picks up all bugs and black doo-dads in my pool, cleans the walls beautifully, is simple to clean, start, stop, has a variety of easily-accessed programs, and is what I consider a good value for the money. In 2 hours 'Dolph' cleans my 25 foot pool from stem to stern.

The robot was in use for 2.5 months. Overall, a decent cleaner robot, a little too slow but it does the job better than my old pressure side Polaris, mostly because it has a large debris basket. Unfortunately, I ran into a small problem: there is a plastic spring that holds in place filtering "wall" in the basket. One of these "walls" came from the factory with slightly malformed spring: it doesn't reliably hold it in place, so it falls into the basket. I noticed it when I started using it in June 2020 but didn't report it right away. In September I closed my pool and stored the robot for the winter. Eventually (now it's October 2021) I called Maytronics for help. They refused to honor their warranty because the filter is not covered under warranty. But the part, a spring, is not an expendable part, it is a faulty piece that was not properly manufactured from the beginning. The part is very simple, and to refuse to stand behind their faulty part in a $1,000 device even after a few months of use is a shame. That's why I removed one star from my rating.

The sweeper straight out of the box impressed me. I placed it in the water and once the unit went through its start sequence, it started doing things our Polaris has struggled with or never done. For starters, this unit climbs the sidewalls of our pool effortlessly. We have an in-ground fiberglass pool with lots of smooth curves and ledges, and the Dolphin went right up to the waterline where the next surprise happened. It held at the waterline, turned slightly and started scrubbing the waterline. With our Polaris sport, we had to turn off the wall climbing feature as it would get hung up and flipped over due to the ledges. Finally, the dolphin has continue to impress as unlike our Polaris, it never gets hung up on the steps, which our Polaris forever did (like once every 3 cycles). So all in all, after 4 weeks of summertime use, we are sold and proud to give this unit 5 stars. Features we love: Non tangling cord Huge basket Waterline and sidewall cleaning Navigates the fiberglass pool really well Cleans very very well (spotless when done) Opportunities for enhancement: Automatic timer with more ability to control when and for how long Bluetooth connectivity for all models (our basic one isn't equipped) PS: I don't Gove reviews, but it was so impressive I felt compelled to highlight how good this is!

I've had the Triton, (I've named him Trevor) running in my pool for about six weeks, though the worst of what spring brings into the pool. Leaves, pollen, seeds, etc. Trevor does a great job cleaning my 16x30 oval pool. I regularly see him surfacing at the water line and he cleans sections at a time. He isn't able to clean my stairs, which I didn't really expect, and a few times after climbing onto them, he seemed to think that he was stuck and stopped cleaning. It would be nice if an update could help him work that out a little better. He was able to get back to the pool bottom, but then stopped. Today I cleaned the filter basket after quite some time and was please to see that it was filtering very well. the filter sides were full of very small sediment, making me glad that I spent extra for this model. The cord does need to be occasionally "untangled" after a few days of cleaning. It doesn't stop the cleaning, but there is more surface area of the cord stopping surface dirt from flowing around. There are two buttons on the control panel that I assume don't do anything for my cleaner since the manual says nothing about them. Overall I'm very satisfied. Trevor saves me loads of work and keeps the pool much cleaner than I would normally.

Some reviews seem rather harsh about this. So robots aren't smart... yet. They randomly run around the pool and many times they pick up leaves, but they do miss some. I had a polaris before this which which infuriated me b/c it always got stuck on the stairs and missed many more leaves that this does. So far this seems to avoid the stairs rather than risk getting stuck, which is fine by me. The few leaves it misses are no problem, they make nets for that. My pool is much cleaner with this than without. And, guess what? It's a robot, if it misses a spot, then just rerun another cycle - don't worry, it won't complain. Does it clean algae? No, definitely not. You still have to scrub occasionally. But it takes care of vacuuming (well, everyplace but the stairs), which is a huge time saver. Why did I pick this one? I decided the bluetooth sounded a little too flaky to risk spending the extra $100 on. This one also had a large basket, which when fall came was great - just don't let the leaves sit in it or they will stain the filter netting. Also, having the water drain out the bottom is great on the back - these things get heavy when full of water. I will note that some debris from the filter drains back in the pool when emptying out the water. Annoying, but my solution is simply to drain it in front of the skimmer.

Have a 25,000 gal. Inground 10ft depth pool. Cleans walls and water line well. Nice cleaning pattern.

Those robot keeps my floor sparkling clean. Unlike my old fashioned pressure powered Polaris, this gets around the entire pool and never gets stuck. It captures everything, even comes out muddy which means it captures a lot of sand and silt. Easy to wash out the basket with the hose once a week or so. My only regret is that I kept investing in parts for my old robot and didn’t jump straight to this. Money aside, I’ll spend 1/3 as much time scrubbing the sides and floor of the pool this summer. Well worth the investment

I was seriously hesitant to buy this but the husband was all for it. My only regret is not doing it sooner. My pool hasn’t look this great in years. I’d buy this again and again for these results..

I bought this after my Polaris became unusable due to damage from the Feb 2021 freeze. I planned to use this until repairs could be made. After I used it the first time, I decided to not fix my booster pump if it turned out to be broken because the Triton cleans so well. After finally getting my equipment completely repaired, I could compare the Triton to my Polaris with booster pump. It's not even close. I can run the Polaris for hours, then drop the Triton in the pool and it will clean up quite a bit more of things the Polaris just pushes around. I also loaned the Triton to a neighbor whose pool was completely down. He ran it for a few days before realizing his filter grids were ripped. He replaced those and in 2 days the Triton turned his pond (he had families of ducks and bullfrogs livings in his pool) back into a sparkling clean pool. The title is a direct quote from him. The basket is trivial to clean and retains pretty much anything. It also does a great job cleaning the water line. It's not as seamless to use as the Polaris, but cleans way better.

I contemplated on purchasing this robot for over a year. I wish I had not waited so long because this thing is amazing. Yes I can understand the price will make you look away but hit buy this item and look away. I promise you that you would love yourself for it later. I was astonished by it's performance after it first cycle through my pool. I live in Northern California and last august we hit by some pretty severe wild fires. The fires left behind some nasty ash residue that was hard to extract for the bottom of my pool. It took me months to make a dent the clean up process(I'm no pool cleaner it's my first pool). Every time I would attempt to clean the pool the ash would cloud up and later sink back to the bottom. It was such a pain. The Triton picked up everything in it's path. It was so awesome to see it go to work. There was some fine dust residue still left behind but not much at all. That ash....let me tell you it was something else. So I purchased the paper fiber style filter sold for this unit so it would pick the remaining dusty particles. The result were tear dropping and now I have a spotless pool again.

I got in and 3 days I put in the pool and it would only work for 10 mins, I tried 3 days that day. I made sure it was cleaned and nothing was blocking it from work. I brought it back about a week and half later and tried it again and it work 24 mins and stopped again. My understand it suppose to run for 2 hours of cleaning. I don't want to waste my money on something I already have problems .

I was hesitant to purchase this after reading all the mixed reviews, but have always had good luck. I went ahead and bought it thinking my luck would continue. Big mistake. Like so many others, I received a unit that only wants to run for 15-25 mins at a time. I have noticed that even though the unit may stop, the lights on the power supply will stay lit for 3 hours each time. This leads me to believe the problem is with the sweeper unit, not the power supply. When it is running, it seems to wander aimlessly instead of "smart scanning" the pool. The only "smart" thing I have seen it do is go back and forth over a shadow cast by a tree limb thinking it's a dirty spot. It does seem to climb walls well, but will only surface and scrub the waterline in four specific locations in my pool. Perhaps it would do more if smart scanning was working properly, but I can't say. Suction power is good, but it can't pick up larger palm fronds which my old Polaris pressure side sweeper could. The filters are extremely easy to remove and clean and the corrugated filter does a really good job with fine particles. I can also confirm that this unit is shipping with the anti-tangle swivel cable again, which does seem to work. Overall and if this unit were working properly, I'd give it 4 stars (minus one for the palm fronds). Unfortunately it isn't working properly and BackyardPoolSuperstore requires me to go through the manufacturer before considering a return. Based on the complaints I've read about Dolphin's customer service, I am not looking forward to it. I will update this review when all is said and done. I just thought I should warn potential customers that if they want a hassle free pool sweep, look elsewhere. ***UPDATE*** I emailed Dolphin's customer service and received no response after 5 business days. I decided to call them instead and was surprised to only have to wait about 20 mins on hold before I got through to a real person. The representative was friendly and helpful, but before doing anything I was required to register the defective device with the company. I asked why I would want to register it if it isn't working and was told that it is their policy. After providing name address, phone number, etc., the rep did a small bit of diagnostic over the phone. He had me try to "reset" the unit by holding the power button down for 30 seconds which was supposed to flash the LED lights, but that never happened. He decided that I have a defective unit and stated that I would have to send the unit in for repair. I asked if there were any other options and was told that I could take it to a local Dolphin distributor (which the closest one was a 30 min drive) or return it to the seller. I chose option 3 and contacted BackyardPoolSuperstore for RMA. They were easy to deal with and provided a Return Authorization without problem. Thank you to them and thank you to Amazon. I wish this cleaner would have worked properly.

Worked well - got a lot of junk out of our new pool, which was full of dust and debris following construction. Then after about two weeks the control panel broke so that I could not press the button to activate it anymore. Felt like the button was jammed or something. Makes the whole thing useless and a new panel cost $400...

When I opened the box it was clear that it had been opened before and re-packed. Hmm. Nothing was obviously damaged, so I set it up and let it run. I have questions. Half the indicators on the power supply appear irrelevant for the Triton PS compared to the the Triton PS Plus, but nowhere in the manual or online docs does it tell you that. Starting it up and selecting a daily schedule works and starts the cleaner running, but eventually the blue power light starts blinking. Again, no explanation for this in the docs. Is it waiting to begin the next cycle, is it trying to tell me there's a problem, is it crying out for love? We don't know. Maytronics doesn't want you to leave the cleaner in the pool, and wants you to pull it out after each use. Uh, what? Who does that? Also, they're very clear that the power supply/control panel isn't weatherproof, should be placed along the long axis of the pool, and should never be connected to an extension cord. So, if you don't happen to have a weather-protected GFCI outlet close enough for the cleaner's cord to reach all parts of the pool but far enough to not be dangerous, you're out of luck. While you can schedule the cleaner to clean every day, every other day, or every third day, that schedule only lasts for a week and then you have to set it up again. The cleaner itself seems to do the job, but its coverage per cleaning cycle is clearly nowhere near complete. The only way to get it to run for an extended period appears to be to cycle power off and on again - there's no other way to override the cleaning schedule. This is a less-capable version of the Triton PS Plus, which enables Bluetooth/WiFi control via app for a couple hundred bucks more. Nobody really seems to have thought through the user experience for the less-capable version.

I am not one to write reviews on a regular basis, but I felt compelled in this case as I was initially very apprehensive in spending this much money on a product and wanted to let others know what I found. This thing works as described! Maybe not 100% coverage, but easily 95%. Just plug it in and go. I used the screens to initially clean the pool which had a bunch of leaves at the bottom after the winter storms. Got them all AND because the system is self contained, none of these leaves went through the pool’s filter system. Changed over to the filters for final cleaning....works great. The filter is extremely easy to clean and thanks to the engineers who set the filter up with the bottom opening. Maybe three minutes to clean and you are back in action. My pool is kind of a weird shape and other pool cleaners would get stuck on the steps, etc. This thing has never been stuck once. At the end of the day, it cleans my pool and I don’t have to do anything but watch it go. The APP for the cleaner leaves a lot to be desired. Tried it a couple of times and it is anything but user friendly. Hopefully in the future they will work on this to make it easier to use. No real need to use it as the cleaner does very well on its own. While expensive, I highly recommend this item to everyone.

We have had this for about a month now and it has worked pretty well. We have a fiberglass rectangular pool with a sundeck next to the stairs that bumps out on one side. It does a good job cleaning the main part of the pool but generally can't clean the steps or the sundeck. The paperwork says it learns the pool but if you watch it move, it seems to have little rhyme or reason for what it is doing. You would think it would just go back and forth the width of the pool till it had reached the other end. Then turn and go back an forth the length of the pool till it reached the other end but it doesn't. It is all over the place. If anyone has any suggestions or if this is what it is supposed to do then please let me know. All in all I believe it is a decent unit and easy to cleanout when needed.

The media could not be loaded. I would not buy this item again. We have used it for a year now and are still not very satisfied. I have to run it twice a day to keep the pool clean. We only have a couple of crepe Myrtles in the vicinity. The suction is not strong and will run over a leaf without picking it up. The cord does not swivel so I’m constantly having to pull the unit out and unplug it so that I can unwind it. I had a dolphin previously and loved it so we assumed this one would be as good. It is easy to clean tho.

I have had this for a year now, and for the most part it works great. The only drawback is that have a live oak tree in my yard that once a year drops all of its leaves within a week and they all go directly into my pool. And because those leaves are very pokey (sharp points on them) they get hung up in the entrance to the vacuum and clog it up so when that happens we basically have to just scoop the majority of those leaves out of the pool with a net during that week or two. But other that that it really does a good job of keeping the pool looking nice. I also like that it comes with the pleated filter, it really catches a lot of small particles like Algae or dirt if you are fighting that. We weren't sure we like it as much as our old Polaris at first but now that we have had it a while we are really happy with it.

For the $$ I spent, I expected a great robot that leaves my pool sparkling. Sad news is its not very powerful and the logic for the robot does not learn the pool dimensions. it constantly leaves many areas untouched

3 days of ownership and the cleaner is on it's 3rd cleaning cycle in hopes of mopping up 3 specific spots where the leaves and debris gather in my pool. The app, as stated in many reviews, is still not allowing me to connect to the cleaner. I'm in an email exchange with Maytronics customer service where they have passive-aggressively pointed out user-error as the problem. They have about 3-days until this machine goes back in the box and gets returned to their vendor. My first Dolphin lasted 6 years with regularly performed maintenance and repair but this one, at $1,000 is not impressing me. Currently this Triton it's hanging up to dry before returning.

I was so excited to get this vacuum. I have a rectangular shape in ground pool. Probably 20x40. The vaccuum seemed to work well but all stopped working before the entire pool was cleaned. When i went to the power supply it was burning hot and none of the lights would come on. Now I have to go through customer service like all the other negative reviews and hope the manufacturer is honorable. Update: like others here mention, if you go to return the pool vacuum, you will lose the restocking fee to the seller at no fault of your own. I did call the manufacturer who sent me a new power supply within a week and cancelled my return. The vacuum has been working just fine. If the vacuum grabbed everything on the full cycle on the first try i would give it 5 stars. Most of the time i have to run it 2 times

Finally decided to take the plunge and get a robotic pool cleaner. Best decision ever as my pool is the cleanest its ever been. Just put it in the pool and it does the rest. After about an hour my 18x36 pool is almost spotless. I do sometimes I need to run two cycles or to fully get everything. I like the wireless wifi connectivity. If the robot it in the water, I can start cleaning from my smart phone from almost anywhere. I also like the manual control to clean a dirty area that the robot may have missed. The filter basket is very large and about the size of my pool's skimmer basket. Accessing the filter basket from the top of the robot is a great feature unlike other robots you have to get the filter from the bottom. As a couple of other notes, I'm able to clean my pool even with my solar cover on the pool using the floor cleaning only mode. The robot has NOT gotten stuck on any obstacles in my pool including the main drain, ladders, and a couple of wrinkles in my pool's vinyl liner. It just rolls right over them. The robot has gotten temporarily hung up on my main drain, but always manages to free itself.

This model is not rated "great" in terms of cleaning in-pool steps, and a more importantly, it can "grind" on the edge of in-pool vinyl-liner steps if it gets stuck on a stair. It ground a hole in the liner which required patching after we noticed the lowering water levels. Since it is not great with steps (we sweep the steps into the main area before vacuuming) is to tether the Dolphin with the cord at the other end of the pool so it can't get to the steps. Other than this caution, it does a very good job.

We have been running this twice a day for a week in our pool. It cleans well but the software has something to be desired. It is so unstable. I have not been able to register the device via wifi to unlock all of the features. It has no recovery button to surface the machine or climb a wall to pick it up. In short, cleans well but hard to use on the software side of things. I have complained to the company and Dolphin just sends me idiot level troubleshooting items that do not solve the software glitches and wifi issues. Save the money and buy a non wifi controlled one. The wifi plus features cannot be registered correctly through their app so I payed $400 more for something I don’t use compared to a lower model lacking the wifi features. The company has little interest in correcting their app so everyone else's reviews to that point are spot on. I also wish it could clean for more then two hours. I would let it go most of the day if the software let me. It really brings up a lot of debris (large and fin dirt) so its basic function works as advertised.

I read all the reviews. So many talk about how this thing only works for 20 minutes then stops. For the cost of this thing, those have to be flukes, right? Nope. Put it in the pool the night it was delivered, did great for 20 minutes, then dead in the water. Control lights still on, but the unit just stopped. Powered off and back on, goes for another 20 minutes. Took it out and cleaned it (hardly anything in it), ran for 20 min and died. Left it powered down overnight, got another 20 min out of it. I am initiating the call to the company tonight to see what they want me to do. It absolutely sucks that I spent that kind of money and got a dud. I am assuming, like other reviews, that I will need to send it in for repairs. A brand new unit, needs repaired. Ridiculous! UPDATE- I sent it end for service. $80 shipping fee paid by me. Now it works perfect. If it weren't for the hassle of getting a brand new unit repaired, it would have gotten 5 stars. Originally gave 1, so now I'll update to 3.

To clean bottom of pool works great

I used the Triton for the first time on Friday 28 June. It started immediately and looked good - but then stopped dead after 5-10 minutes. I checked the filter basket, impeller and tracks - all were OK so I started the cleaner again. Off it went then stopped again after the same period - 5-10 minutes. I contacted Maytronics on Monday 1 July end explained everything to them - they said they would check my serial number to see if my cleaner needed a "software update"and if it did I would need to return it to them at their cost - I have followed up but heard nothing more from them. Sorry but unless this is corrected at the seller's or Maytronics cost I am one very annoyed customer - if it is a software issue they must have known that for some time so are knowingly selling cleaners that do not work - hopefully the seller or Maytronics will respond Update - Maytronics did respond and provided a shipping label to return the product. Within 24 hours of registering it with Fed Ex, they shipped me a new one which I now have - they upgraded to the plus model. It works like a dream, no issues at all except the terrible realisation that it is picking up a lot of dirt that I can't even see! I can see now that the original model that they sent had a failed navigation system - this one has a strong blue flashing light which is obviously measuring distances and mapping the pool. A visual map showing the areas covered would be a cool feature for the App on the plus model. I am now a happy Triton owner.

You must use a smart phone with the Dolphin app to control. First use performs the floor and wall cleaning cycle (2) hours. If you don't use the app to change to the floor only cleaning cycle (1) hour, it will repeat the 2 hour cleaning cycle every time you use it. The range of the WI-FI is short. I can connect at about 50' (line of sight). It does not map your pool and save the data, each use is a new adventure. Efficiency is about 99%. It came with Spring filters which are for pool opening in the Spring. After opening you need the Ultra-fine filters. I purchased the Ultra-fine filters with the basket. Very easy to clean. The Dolphin app has many useful functions. I use Manual Drive to return the robot to where I launched it (instead if dragging it across the pool). This robot is a great value for the price!

This works pretty well and will save you from spending your time vacuuming the pool, for the most part. It does about 90% of the work. Filter is easy to remove and rinse out for next use. Does not climb and clean steps well, and water line scrubbing is so random. Does do a good job on the floor of the pool. Bad design - I foresee a design flaw - they suggest you "grab the electric cord" to pull the device to you, so you can grab the handle to pull it out of the pool? Im probably going to attach a buoy to mine- that I can "pull" on rather than the electric cord..... Surprise!!! Manufacturer is "no longer" including the corrugated filters from the factory, with the purchase, like it states. So if you were looking for those "other" filters - you will have to buy them separately, which disappoints me, because I have need for both types of filters and was keen on getting both with this purchase.

It’s a 3 stars rebotic the main issue is it doesn’t clean corners otherwise it seems ok for now.

I have had this now for at least my 4th season. It works beyond expectations. My pool cover just came off and this baby cleaned the entire (large) pool in 5 runs. Super easy to use. Easy to clean! Just a wonderful product. If only everything worked this well. Happy to answer any questions.

I read the reviews about how this model did not work for some people (it would work for only 20 minutes before stopping), but I decided to try my luck anyway, as I have been lucky in the past with other products. Well, guess what? The robot worked only for a maximum of 20 minutes when I put it in. I tried it up to 4 separate times and it did not work each time. I put in for a refund the same day I got it, figuring that I was lucky I bought a "prime" product as I could return a defective item with no consequences. When I came to printing out the return label, I noticed that there was stipulation that there would be a 20% warehousing fee for the returned item. I sent it in anyway because I had already ordered a replacement robot. Despite my fear that I would be charged the 20% fee, I was not charged the fee and I got a full refund, so no worries there. Buying an item with the "prime" label is definitely worth it! The new Triton PS I got has worked well. I love the large basket that holds a ton of leaves and it is a huge step up from my previous Triton plus that only had two small baskets. This robot also cleans the "scrub line" of the pool really well and so far it has worked flawlessly. Conclusion: This is a good pool cleaner for the price, but I am disappointed with the company's quality control if the company (Maytronics) lets defective products through without picking up defective products.

This is our first robot and now going on two months of use. The robot is easy to use and clean. We have a free form pool with curves. I would give the robot an A on floor cleaning. It appears to cover the entire floor each cleaning cycle. I would give it a C+ for wall cleaning as it doesnt seem to touch all surfaces each cleaning cycle and does the same spots multiple times. The robot doesnt do a great job on steps and wont clean low water shelfs (probably true of all robots). The app is okay, but unless you need to control cycle remotely, you may want to consider lower cost model without connectivity. Overall satisfied and would reccommend based on our experience so far.

I had really high hopes for this Dolphin, and I'm still holding out hopes that someone can assist me with my issue before I return it. The robot does work very well at cleaning, when it's not stopping. My problem is that the consistently runs for only 5-15 minutes at a time. I was told that this could be due to the impeller having debris stuck, but that is not the case. There is never a single thing stuck in the impeller. In fact, I've found that if I just restart it, it doesn't work. If I simply let it sit off on the outside of the pool for 5 minutes and then drop it back in, it works. Update: Upgrading this to 5 stars after their helpdesk assisted me through fixing this issue (Their helpdesk is very friendly and easy). I unscrewed the 2 screws holding the motor housing, shook it, and screwed it back down. Works perfect now and does a great job.

Upon receipt, I found the cleaner to not work more that few minutes before stopping. I called Dolphin support and they asked if I was willing to try a simple fix which involved removing cover and reseating the motor unit. This fixed the problem and it now works fine. Cleaning power is great

Like most of you, I researched and researched which model to buy. Our older model Dolphin DX3 died, and there were some things I hoped to improve on with a new purchase. The old machine used to occasionally get stuck in the corners of our lazy L shaped pool with a liner. Though it cleaned well, it seemed to scrub a little too much in some places and eventually left faded scrub marks on the liner. An important feature of the Triton PS for us are the side jets that prevent the machine from getting stuck and keep it moving freely as it cleans. The easy top load access and the swivel cord were also important. We demo'd a couple of more expensive models and they did not climb the walls of the deep end of our pool. Seems the angle from the bottom to mid way up the wall confused them - none would climb all the way to the waterline. The Triton PS has not had that issue! It has done great! It scrubs up to the waterline and picks up leaves and small sticks on the bottom. It's a great machine for those who do not care about an app or steering the machine. We are happy with the once a day option or just pushing a button if we want it to run again.. It does very well. If this machine lasts for more than a few years i'll be very happy. It has exceeded my expectations so far and was one of the less expensive models.

It absolutely is a great cleaner. I have had it for over a year. The support is about the worst I have ever experienced. The marketing is while not specifically unlawful, certainly not 100% accurate. I am unable to schedule more than once a day and the manual controls are marginal at best. It will ONLY run once a day, and then turns OFF every week. I ALWAYS come home to it being off if I go away a week. I have attempted to purchase an upgraded controller, but support seems to not understand. I had to have the larger basket for my pool is under 2 trees, too bad there is no way to schedule it to clean at a specific time. Since I have to run it 2 times a day, it is 100% a manual procedure for me. Deceptive description on the programming.

Great product

So we recently purchased a house that happen to have a pool and unbeknownst to us the machine that the previous owners had left was only gonna last about another year but after reading a bunch of reviews and having friends with pools that brought new robots I quickly learned that not all robots are created equal a lot of them don’t go up the wall which is what they called a waterline which is obviously a big problem when you have a inground pool this Robert was below the thousand dollar mark which was actually big because for some reason 1800 to 2400 seems to be an average price for these robots and it does stairs it does the waterline it does the floor it’s very easy to use it’s exceptional

This product is nothing but amazing. I’ve been using this cleaner for about two months now. Now I am considering should I continue hiring my regular pool guy. This cleaner cleans better than my pool guy. I run it for two hours daily, now my pool is clean and clear every day. Even on a windy day, a bunch of leafs would fall into the pool and they would be picked and clean next day. When my pool guy comes everyday, he only spend for 10-15 minutes to check my tablets and skims the leafs on top. There are nothing else for him to do. The price of the machine is expensive, but it does the job extremely well. If I were to fire the pool guy (after covid) this cleaner would pay for itself in about two years. In other words, I would be saving money after two years. Only time would tell how long it’ll last. But I did purchase the extra warranty Amazon offered which makes the warranty to be about 5 years.

We did a lot of research to find a unit that would work well. This one fits the bill! It climbs the walls like nothing I've seen on any others we demo'd. It even gets up onto our seats on each end. It will not go onto a sun shelf if you have one because they are generally too shallow. It picks up all the silt on the bottom of the pool as well as anything larger that is down there. The basket is easy to access and cleans really easily. The only potential issue for users is that you have to remember to re-set the program each week since it will only allow you to set cleaning patterns for 1 week at a time. We knew this when we bought it and didn't want to spend the extra money for additional programming options but this could be an issue if you aren't aware. Going on 2 months so far and have been incredibly pleased with its cleaning ability.

The basket design makes this one easy to clean out, but the inlet gets clogged up with leaves easily, rendering the basket useless. I constantly had to pull it out of the water and unclog it. This unit only lasted 1.5 yrs., normally, I get 3 yrs out of a Dophin. It cleaned debris well and keeps walls clean. The cable was long and didn't tangle often. The controls were very basic. Not worth the money, I'm buying the Premier this next time.

This little guy is fantastic when he’s working. I bought it last year. Toward the end of the summer it stopped completing a cycle. Still under warranty so I contacted Maytronics and they had me ship it to them for $80. My pool store is a servicing center so I called to see if I could bring it there. Nope. The online versions have different parts and can’t be serviced at my store. Had I known this I would never have bought online. The convenience of a local service option would be great. Hoping it will be fixed when it comes back. It’s very concerning to spend this kind of money on something and have it crap out in 10 months.

A great product is one thing. But great customer service is a bonus to me. We ordered one and when I dropped it in to get started it had an issue... cleaned 6 feet and stopped. After troubleshooting myself and then with a factory rep, they replaced it. I had a new one in a few days. I waited a couple months before writing the review. This device is an incredible timesaver. We have a 45,000 gallon pool that we used to vacuum at least weekly. Since getting this started we haven't vacuumed once. I would make this purchase again in a heartbeat. Quality product and quality service. I feel products are going to have issues now and again. Its how you resolve the issue that is important.

First time pool owner here, and short on cleaning time. Researched about 10 models for the unit I felt we needed given the pool size (50'x20') and surfacing (gunite peeble). I went with this unit since the triangulated tracks for feet seemed to me the best option for grip. That proved to be true and we're happy with the Triton. It does not have a 'memory', but still completes the job in one session. Impressively climbs vertical walls to clean the water line, but will only go horizontal about three feet before it submerges and starts again. It wont climb up on our wading step, but thats easy to clean manually from the outside. Clean up on this thing is a breeze and the filters pick up even the smallest algae you can't see from the surface. Impressive unit for much less than the top of the line guys, quiet and good looking.

Love this guy! We have a plaster, freeform, tanning shelf, two side benches and 3 steps, 5 ft deep, 32'×14'. The cord is over looking enough for our pool. First drop in and he cleaned all of the sand out with the standard screens. Here cleans the tile line and ledges great! He won't go on the tanning shelf because his sensors detect the water level and prevents jin from pushing up in the shelf. We have a shallow tanning shelf which prevents his sensors from realizing it is safe to keep going up. No big deal that's just a simple brush on our part. After months of research, I'm very happy with this selection. He does the job perfectly! Takes about 2 hours to clean our pool. Lifting out isn't hard. Just pull up and let the water drain out before trying to fully lift out of the pool. This is by far a great purchase and removed the annoying part of brushing and vacuuming the pool! We purchased the "Dolphin Triton PS Automatic Robotic Pool Cleaner with Extra-Large Filter Basket and Superior Scrubbing Power, Ideal for In-ground Swimming Pools up to 50 Feet."

Worked great for 11 months now it only moves a few feet then stops. Quality is only issue

I have struggled for many years as a single woman trying to keep my 15 x 30 in ground swimming pool clean. After extensive research, I came across this dolphin model pool cleaner. I was very hesitant to spend this amount of money on any vacuum system. Especially since, I just could not be sure would work. I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase it. From the moment I got it out of the Box and plugged it in and literally threw it into my pool, I could not be happier. It's so easy to use. It works great. Getting it out of the pool to clean the basket is not an ordeal. I have trees in my yard, so I have heavy leaves. I live in Florida we recently had high winds from hurricane Dorian. I have not spent more than 20 minutes cleaning my pool since I bought this dolphin Triton. The basket is very easy to clean. The filters are easy to clean. It's not heavy for me to pull out of the pool to clean. It does an excellent job! I only wish that I would have spent the extra money to get the Bluetooth option so I could turn it on and off from my phone. However, pushing one button really isn't that difficult. This is a great product I would recommend it to anyone. Well worth the money!

We always have a bit of an algae issue on the walls in early spring after we remove the pool cover and the sunlight starts hitting the walls. Since we have a mineral (ozone) system rather than a chlorine or salt, the algae doesn't get killed off unless it is swept from the walls and is prevented from sticking and then sucked thru the ozone system. That's what this cleaner is so good at - sweeping the walls. We have been able to get rid of that issue and it helps our pool cleaning company get in and out quicker when they come service the pool. The one negative is that it can't clean the top step bc the step is too narrow and shallow, but that really isn't a big issue for us. I'd buy this again and recommend it to others.

I was worried about spending so much money on yet another pool cleaning item that might not last, but now I don't really care if it breaks down in a year or two. My pool has never been so clean. When and if this ever stops working I'm going to order another one right away. I've had it for almost a month and it has been working great. It gets up all the sand and spilled DE and most of the leaves. Sometimes I leave it in the water and run it several days in a row, sometimes I take it out and leave it out for a few days depending on the amount of leaves that have fallen. It has never gotten stuck anywhere and the hose has never kinked. I did bring it inside for a couple of days when we had a freeze but I'm not sure if that's necessary.

The media could not be loaded. I have only had the unit for a few days, so I can’t comment on its long term reliability. It does a great job cleaning the pool, climbs the walls and cleans the water line, and it easy to drive around with the remote function in the phone app.

SO I looked at the other reviews, and can't believe I purchased the same unit as others! MINE HAS WORKED LIKE A CHARM since JUNE 2019 (13 months) ! First of all it has 2 sets of filter screens which are EASILY interchanged - and easily cleaned. As someone who owned aquabot for 10 years, this is a dream. The handle on the unit is great for picking it up out of the water (Some units don't have a handle). My unit at least, is not programmed. I understood this BEFORE I purchased it. My Triton just ROAMS the pool for 2 hours, and gets it clean. Yeah, it's not perfect, especially after a thunderstorm that puts leaves and dirt in my pool (my yard has a few trees). Just hit the button for another 2 hours and the pool looks great. The anti tangle pitch is nonsense as mentioned in another review. It gets tangled a little, but not enough to interfere. I did my homework, needed a basic model, and this was fine.

The cleaner worked very well for the first 45 days. It was able to clean very fine sediment from the bottom of the pool. It struggled some on the stairs but was ok. The power control module quit working after 45 days. No power at all. I tried unplugging it waiting and plugging it back in, and verified that the actual outlet had power. I contacted the seller, BackyardPoolSuperstore about it. Their reply, "Sorry, but the 30 day return policy is done. Contact the manufacturer." Great customer service!!! You would think that a company selling a product for nearly $1000 would do something more than that. Especially if it only worked for 45 days then quit. I will try to resolve this with the manufacturer. **UPDATE** after the nonexistent Customer Service from BackyardPoolSuperstore, I contacted the manufacturer and they were awesome to work with. After a couple troubleshooting questions they quickly proceeded to ship out a brand new power control box. No problem. If you choose to purchase the Triton PS, don’t buy it from BackyardPoolSuperstore. Make sure you read their warranty and especially their return policy. **UPDATE #2** Recieved the replacement control module after about a month of being on back order, only to have it quit working after only about 4 days. total garbage.

Received the pool robot and was impressed at how well it cleaned our family pool. The Bluetooth function is extremely limited as well as the app. Fast forward a month and now the machine won't stay powered on for longer than 30 minutes. I've emailed Backyard Pool Superstore, hopefully they can get the situation remedied. Until then my review will reflect the $1000 broken robot that I have. Update 5-23 So I reached out Backyard Pool Superstore. They replied to me very quickly and referred me directly to Maytronics. After speaking with them, I had to FedEX the robot to a repair center for a warranty repair -DO NOT THROW OUT THE ORIGINAL BOX!!! Apparently the software needed to be updated. The robot has been in the pool for 40 minutes and is still going strong. Hopefully it'll keep going.

Ours lasted about 4 months before we started having problems. Called support, they will send out a box and we have to pay to have the unit shipped back to get fixed. We were told it takes 7-10 business days to get your robot fixed. Support was nice and helpful. The first person I spoke with hung up on me for some reason. She didn't sound like she was having a very good day. Other than that we really like the robot. It keeps things really clean. It doesn't seem very smart, like it learns your pool and cleans every spot. It just seems to randomly drive around and clean where ever it's pointed. It seems like it always cleans the same spots. The robot filters are easy to keep clean and maintenance is pretty darn simple, if you're a tiny bit handy with a Phillips head screw driver. Cheers!

I purchased the Maytronics Triton PS Plus. Part 1 of my story : Took it out of the box, read instructions, which were very simple and easy to follow. Put the unit in the water, turned on power supply, and .... nothing. Dead on arrival. Called customer support. After 30 MINUTES on hold, the rep ran me through the standard trouble shooting remedies. Still nothing. Then she said that there must have been some damage during shipping and that I should return the unit for repair. I received my RMA right away but no prepaid shipping label yet. Hope they are not expecting me to pay shipping for this 20 pound item. Will see how the return process goes and will update the review with Part 2. Part 2 - Turns out I did have to pay for shipping ($60). I received the "repaired" robot in a week. Put it in the pool ... it STILL did not work. Called customer service back (only 15 minutes on hold this time), and complained. I asked for, and received, agreement for a prepaid shipping label to return the broken unit and a NEW replacement unit. I received my new unit in about a week ... and thankfully it worked first time. Now Im anxious to see if it performs well over time. For the price I paid, it better last a long time. Ive raised my rating from 1 star to 2 stars since the second experience with customer service gave me what I wanted and the robot works. That said, Im surprised at how many reviews there are indicating poor quality robots. It appears Maytronics should spend a bit more money on manufacturing quality control and reduce field failures.

I've owned a pool for 16 years now and have steadily escalated automated pool cleaners. I started cheap and moved from suction to pressure side to this my first robotic cleaner. This thing is great. It climbs the walls, doesn't get stuck. has a large capacity basket thats easy to empty and has two sets of filters. I leave it in the pool and it cleans once a day. We have a ton of leaves dropping in our pool right now and oridnarily I would have given up until spring and had to start with a green pool but this year, this little guy keeps up with all the leaves. He does miss some spots but I just start another cycle and it tends to get whatever was missed the first time. 4 total hours and the pool looks great. I should have bought this one years ago. The only thing I would do different if buying again would be to pay the money for the plus edition that I can control remotely. That way I could just drive him to the little missed spots instead of doing a whole other cycle. That is on me though. This guy is awesome.

The media could not be loaded. Our pool is over 10 feet deep and it has two built in benches and a sun deck. This guys cleans it all. We have been longtime owners of an older model dolphin cleaner which lasted nearly 5 years. We were hoping to replace our old “mobi” (that’s what we call him) with an upgrade that we could count on. We’ve had our new mobi for about a month now and we love him. This cleaner spends a lot more time in the tile line and the jets on the side help blow off areas around the tile area he’s working on. The new programmable control box has really made life easier and he comes on and gets to work everyday or every other day right on time. We have two evil trees on either end of our pool but he gobbles up all of the debri with ease. The top load huge basket has made life easier too. The basket has a drop bottom so we can easily compost the debri he gathers then just spray off the screens. We use the spring cleanup screens to get the big debri and once the leaves and seeds stop falling we switch to the corrugated cartridges. And man! Does he hug the walls and floor! Our old mini would fall down the wall. So far, he’s better than expected. The cord does tend to get a little twist in it after a couple uses but it is easy to unwind and we’ve found that if you limit his cable to just what he needs this is a minimal occurrence. We are happy with our purchase. The money we spent was worth the peace of mind!

I believe anything you put into the water, needs to be as basic as it can be, basicly less parts to go bad! It really works as expected. It cleans at random and is simple to use. I have a large 24x44 by 9 feet deep pool. It takes all of 3 hours for this guy to clean it. And it does, for the most part. I have 3 steps all along the shallow end, it doesn't clean those very well. I kinda expected that. If it did clean the steps, would have been 5 star!

I decided on the Dolphin Triton PS and bought it. Most pool robots have ratings of 3.8 - 4.1 and each one had reviews that were great and others than showed problems and because of this I had a difficult time deciding which to purchase. I've used my Dolphin Triton twice now. It has done well. It climbs the walls easily and scrubs the waterline. The cable does not tangle (several reviews indicated that this has been a problem). It will climb stairs but the stairs are more narrow than the length of the robot so it really isn't able to clean them well. Similarly, the ledge for in-pool seating gets cleaned but not as well as the rest of the pool because of the width of the ledge. I will probably try the manual mode using the app. At first I was unable to register the device because the Maytronics system did not recognize the serial number. I contacted both the seller and Maytronics. Both responded within a few days. Turns out the 0 in the middle of 4 letters was a zero and not a capital "o". It is now registered. I'm pleased so far. This robot is fairly light and easy to handle. In the water it has almost neutral buoyancy when off so you can easily raise it to near the surface, then pick it up by the handle.

I have had 2 robot cleaners and multiple suction side cleaners. This one by far does the best. My pool is an L shaped and approx 25k salt water. It comes with two sets of filters: use the coarse set for early cleaning and the finer mesh set for everyday use. I usually clean my pool twice each time if possible as this thing is not perfect and it does miss some areas but not a lot. I have seen it clean the walls for 20 ft without stopping and it's about 3 inches above water line when it does that. It picks up everything from Bobby pins to large oak leaves with no problems. Best part, is the clean up. It usually takes me no more than 5 minutes to clean which includes pulling unit out of pool, pulling filter out which is super easy. I then spray the unit off with garden hose and then a good rinse of filter box, let air dry for a bit, then put in plastic deck box. The cord never gets tangled and is plenty long enough for a 38x26x18 size pool and being 7foot on the deep end. My pool is a liner pool and I would buy another one without hesitation but I didnt buy the blue tooth flavor as I could not justify the cost.

The pool cleaner would only go half way up the walls. Not at all like the video of product. I returned it at UPS was accepted for refund but close to 2 weeks now and NO REFUND. WHO IS TO BLAME AMAZON OR MANUFACTURER ?????? I want my REFUND

Our old pressure cleaner/booster pump both broke around the same time so we wanted to try a robotic pool pump based on feedback from others. This is fairly light weight (considering the size) and does a great job on scrubbing the water line. My only complaint is that the pattern seems so random and doesn't get all of the pool floor. I'd say it cleans about 90%. Too much of a pain to return, but so pricey for only 90% cleaning.

Easy to set, easy to clean, better than skimmer cleaners!

I have a positive history with Maytronics-Dolphin pool cleaners so I purchased a new one without hesitation when the need arose. Regretfully, my new unit started having problems the first week I used it as it would turn itself on at random times of the day an attempt to "walk" off the cradle where it is stored. I called the customer service number and the rep explained the process for re-initializing the unit's software. A few days later the unit began tripping the 20 amp circuit where the power cord was connected. The unit would run for a minute or two and then trip the circuit. After resetting the circuit a number of times the unit began tripping the circuit immediately. I called the customer service number again and explained the problem. The rep indicated that they would send out a new control/power module and I should receive it within about 5 business days. After ten days had passed I called back to inquire re the status of my replacement power supply and was informed that this part was "out of stock" and that it will ship on October 4 at the earliest. Given that my call to report the problem was made in early August I was disappointed that the pool season would be over by the time I receive the replacement unit. This experience does not come close to meeting my expectations based on my history with Maytronics-Dolphin and is discouraging given the $1000 price tag for what I believed to be a top tier product.

We have a fiberglass pool that has stairs and a standing ledge in the deep end, we bought this back in January and have been extremely pleased with our purchase. I was reticent at first because this was on the lower price range for the dolphin models we were looking at but it is awesome! It climbs the walls and gets the water line, it is able to transition over the ledge and steps. It does not get the entire water line but other than that it is awesome. This model does not work with the smart phone app but the timer seems to be working well. We are also considering buying the caddy with the cover for outdoor storage (right now we bring it inside most of the time when we are done) Overall highly recommend

So I owned a Dolphin 4 and much to my dismay died after 7 years of service. The reviews have been brutal on all the pool vacuum products. This vacuum has exceeded my expectations with cleaning and the ease of dumping the basket. It's only been a week, so I will update in 6 months to see if I am still this happy... Update 12/15/2021 Power Supply had died.... Lets see how well the manufacturer warranty works. Manufacturer was super fast responding and resolved. June 6, 2022 Still performing like a champ. It is a keeper. If I have to pick something to complain about. Here it is. The power cord is not as tangle free as they sell it to be.

I have an in ground 20 x 40' pool directly below a line of pine trees and although this thing doesn't clean floating surface debris, it keeps the bottom of the pool pristine! I love this robot. It took me only a few minutes to read through the start up instructions and have it in the pool shortly after arrival. We had just opened the pool when it was delivered, so it ran about it's 2-ish hour cycle about 5 times the first day and you could see the paths it took in the scum at the bottom. If it's picking up scummy stuff the large basket won't get full, but the screen sides of the basket will get caked with the scum stuff. We hose the basket out after every cycle and pull pine needles out of the cracks and crevices of the robot, which is a small task considering it keeps the bottom of the pool, and water line and walls very clean. I've had it about 2 months now, running at least once daily (usually more since the jets it uses to move are helpful with mixing chemicals, although it's not recommended to be used like that), and we've had no issues with it. I bought the available warranty, but have not needed it.

The media could not be loaded. I will speak out both sides of my mouth here. I love pool robots and this is the third one I have owned and they have all been dolphins. Its some times easier and cheaper to replace vs repair. This is actually the 2nd Triton PS i have owned. It does a great job at cleaning the pool and the basket and cleaning could not be easier. I mean when it works, this pool sparkles. It cleans the waterline beautifully as this has an active scrubber on the front which moves at 2x the speed of the one in the back. It handles my steps with ease as well. Now the bad...Maytronics...all of these get stuck on drain covers despite your marketing that it gets over them. Some times it maps where it does not directly intercept and its fine. But maybe 1 out if 6 i have to free it. This could be solved thru a very simple design update. I have built product for 20yrs and this would be a product test here that would absolutely need to pass before I would ship something to the consumer. With that said They have a model with a 3rd active drive on the bottom center that is i believe $1300 vs this $850 that would probably cruise over these if you are shopping for one. Now if your pool has lower profile or no drain covers this thing would be dynamite!! Another note...beside drain hang ups...all maytronics robots clean pretty well...and last about the same amount of time 😉

Will not do tanning ledges at all due to depth but fits our needs as we expected that. Would buy again as it grabs all the things. Perfect for our fiberglass pool. Remote is clunky but not necessary at all in my opinion. Will not spray water everywhere either which was a HUGE bonus for us.

Once our Triton PS was delivered, I was excited to get it in the pool. It was simple to unbox and get set up; however, once I put it in the pool it ran for a few minutes and then stopped. I went through all the troubleshooting steps on the Maytronics website and it still wouldn’t work. I called Maytronics directly and had to wait on hold for over 30 minutes (this is due to COVID issues according to their website). Once I finally spoke to someone, it was great. He was very helpful and ended up shipping us a replacement. We did have to ship the other one back, but they provided the label. Fortunately we kept the box. We got our replacement and so far it is working great. It was disappointing to get a dud and first, but I’m really impressed with the customer service that Maytronics provided (minus the long wait).

Update: contacted the company. They had me send it back and they fixed it. I can’t remember what the issue was, but will provide details once I can go back in my emails. I just wanted to update this so people don’t think I stuck with a lemon. It works now and is helpful. I still have to scrub the pool anyway but less than had I not used this. ——————- So I've had this product for a little over a year... used it anywhere from 4-5 times a month and now it doesn't work.

Nope.... sorry Dolphin. I don’t spend $1100 and have to mess with the thing for three hours of on for ten mins... then off for two and it kept up. Nothing was blocking the unit. My pool was not that dirty. I checked the propeller and nothing was there. I got way too frustrated and sent it back the next day. I never even bothered with the wifi part. Pros: it’s light, it cleans well when it works, easy filter cleaning, cord swivel seemed to work. Did a nice job on the water line Cons: it runs for a short time and shuts down, got stuck on the filter, This is not my first rodeo. I had my last dolphin with the bags and bottom filter last 15 years. I was skeptical about buying a new Dolphin because everyone complained about the fact that it stops working for no reason. Just dead in the water. I looked at every article and every review of many different Dolphins. They ALL had this same problem. So maybe I got a lemon too. Don’t know. After this, I returned it and got a Polaris. Used it today and no issues. In fact, it is heavier and has wheels ( not sure I was big on that) but it cleaned the pool quickly and without problems. I liked that I don’t pull it from the cord to take it to me to remove. I felt the cord is the problem with Dolphins. If they could somehow fix that issue... I would go back. Polaris makes units that swim to the surface so you grab them by the handle... not the electrical cord!

This is my third Dolphin. The first lasted 17 years, the 2nd one nearly 5 years, but this new one lasted an entire 10 minutes. I am not only angry after spending nearly $1,000, but disappointed too. I sent an email/contact us through the manufacturer's website. I will give them a day to respond, otherwise I am sending it back as I purchased it through Amazon. UPDATE: Maytronics responded to my inquiry stating that they are aware motors are shifting during shipment. They provided a link to a short video and I removed the motor, placed it correctly (it had shifted), and the Dolphin seems to be running properly now. The fix took less than 3 minutes using only a screw driver. I've upgraded my rating from 1 to 3 stars. I just hope this machine lasts....

First time pool owners and had a lot to learn when we opened it up this year, but this robot is wonderful! Easy to operate, easy to clean out the basket, and it sucks up everything. The first few times we used it (immediately after uncovering the pool), it didn't climb the walls but we realized that was because the walls of the pool were so slimy the robot couldn't get a grip. After the correct chemicals and such were in we no longer had that issue and it climbs/scrubs the walls every time now. The only thing the robot doesn't do super well is cleaning the stairs. Sometimes it will make it partway but it never does the whole staircase, which is true of every robot I considered purchasing. With this robot, the only thing we hand scrub in the pool now is the stairs. Such a time saver!

I’ve had several different pool cleaners over the years, both suction and pressure side. This was the first robotic I’ve ver had. The Triton is FAR superior to anything I’ve ever had. It climbs walls and handles the stairs with ease. The entire pool is sparkling clean after one 2 hour cycle. For my pool, I really don’t think I need to run it more than twice a week. I’ve been cleaning the filter basket and removing it from the pool after each use so I hope that extends the life of it. I wrestled with the decision to get one with Bluetooth or not but now I know I don’t really need it. This guy doesn’t need my help.

We use the Dolphin 3x per week and have cut weekly pool service to biweekly. While Dolphin cannot read the numbers on the control panel and make adjustments, it does do a good job of keeping our 40’ pool clean.

I've had the Triton PS for over 2 years now. The first year, it worked great, picking up almost all leaves and dirt, and not did not tangle. In year 2, it started to tangle somewhat but was still usable. It started to become less efficient at cleaning (after 1 or even 2 sessions, there would be 30 to 50% of the leaves and dirt still in the pool). After the 2nd year, the unit still runs, but it doesn't do much. It gets tangled very easily, requiring 10-15 minutes of untangling after each and every run. When it runs, it seems to be able to vacuum dirt into the unit, but it goes straight through to the "exhaust" up top and you see a puffing chimney-like spew of that same dirt, right back into the pool . I've followed the manual's instructions on cleaning and maintaining the unit, the filter, and the impeller. It looks all clean inside, but for some reason dirt just does not stay inside when its picked up. It can pick up about 30% of the leaves that are on the floor (when it was new, it could pick up most, like 80-90%). So, now it runs, but it's almost useless, and out of warranty. Net cost has been about $350/yr. The money would have been better spent hiring a pool maintenance service.

I have a good working dolphin nautilus 99996403 pc since 2017 until now. Then i decided to replace it with dolphin triton pc, after testing it in my clean pool for 30 minutes its just stop i tried to turn it off and on 3 times but wont work so i will return it or will be waiting for a replacement. I really like dolphin robot.

I thought this was going to be awesome. Big basket, looks cool, but it has been difficult to keep it running. It runs for about twenty minutes and then just stops. I pull it out of the pool to check the basket and it is practically empty. I have to unplug it, turn the power back on, and start it over again. I had the aquabot before, for about the same price, it is a much superior vacuum. I have only had it for about a month.

I bought the Triton Plus with PowerStream. I used to have another pool robot that just sucked water and didn't have the sweeper. I paid around $500 for it years ago and it was a pain in the butt. It was hard to clean the filter (had a bag that you had to fit around 2 metal bars), it would often only do half of the pool, rarely climbed the walls, etc.. The motor broke after about 2.5 years and cleaned the pool myself for about a year or so. Finally decided to buy this robot after trying to learn about different models and brands (different for brick and mortar vs online). Even though I paid almost twice as much for this robot, I have to say that I am very impressed. It cleans the whole pool every time, it climbs the walls and scrubs the water line, the filter is super easy to clean (just pull from top and spray with hose...kinda like a pool fitler). I haven't used the bluetooth app yet so no comment. The only negatives so far is that it doesn't by default come with a caddy, and even though it has climbed the stairs of my pool I still have to sweep the stairs prior to running the unit. I did buy the 4yr warranty for an additional $99 but hoping I won't need it.

I did a lot of research before I purchase this product and I couldn’t believe how many bad reviews there were. Initially I had purchased vacuum the connects a hose to your skimmer and everybody told me it was better than these robotic cleaners. They were absolutely wrong and I wouldn’t listen to another pool professional or any customer that writes a bad review, this product is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it 10 stars if I could my pool has never been cleaner. This product is practically maintenance free and requires almost no hands-on you just put it in the water turn it on and your pool will be sparkling clean. I’ve use the product now for about 90 days and I’m completely satisfied I will never go back to another pool cleaner this is the best thing on the market.

I replaced my broken Dolphin Nautilus CC with the Dolphin Triton PS. The Dolphin Triton is a bigger unit with a bigger collection basket. The basket that came with the Triton is also nicer because it is a more “fine” mesh and has flaps to help guide debris in. This seems to be a more powerful unit although the specs are the same as the Nautilus CC. The dual scrubbers on both sides also pick up and clean much better than the Nautilus CC. The price was more, but I feel like you get more for your money with this unit. The standard warranty is also longer with Maytronics as it is 3 years instead of the 1 year with the Nautilus CC.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the cleaning, scrubbing and efficiency of this model. HOWEVER, even with the "swivel" power cord attachment, it continues to tangle / twist on itself. I've tried everything they suggest (not putting to extra length into the pool, letting the cord straighten and warm in the sun, etc) but to no avail. Within the first 30 minutes, the cord is tangled and reach is limited. I routinely have to manually untangle the cord every 30 minutes and it's quite annoying. If anyone is aware of an updated fix for this I'd love to hear about it.

I've owned other brands and always have been disappointed. We ended up just vacuuming ourselves. But this Triton does exactly what it advertises! It cleans my 20' x 40' inground gunnite pool like a champ!! I rarely leave reviews, but a pool cleaner is expensive and can be nerve wracking. We are completely satisfied....especially my children who don't have to vacuum every weekend. Thanks Dolphin!!!

Less than 1 month after we purchased the Triton PS it stopped working consistently- sometimes it would work for 20 minutes or 20 seconds or not at all. Sometimes it would move several feet but mostly not at all. We sent it back and they made us pay for the shipping. Unfortunately upon trying it again it has the same problem which must be electronic. It is very frustrating and disappointing. Also the remote control does not work. That was a lot of money to pay for something that does not work. We emailed the company and they told us that it really did work and that we should take it to a local dealer so the dealer could teach us how to use it. How insulting, and they just assumed we had a local dealer to take it to and the time to do so. They did not want to admit that it did not work. It is very sad to spend about $1,000 on something that does not work and to deal with a company who refuses to take responsibility for their product. This is probably a multi million dollar company. Why not stand behind the products and actually fix something, or give us a new one instead of just putting a new cord on it which was EXTREMELY hard to attach to the power pak and was a different cord than it came with, and then just pretend it was fixed and worked well. How sad and disappointing. They don't even want us to send it back again. We are stuck with a worthless product and they won't do anything about it.

I did so much research on this product vs. other dolphin automatic cleaners and even though there were higher rated cleaners I decided on the Triton. I also read some of the bad reviews about the robot stopping after about 15-20 minutes and really hoping that wasn't the case. What I liked about the Triton was the cleaning basket ease and lighter weight with handle. When I placed it for the first time in the pool I left it alone and came back to my pool not being cleaned and the machine just standing lifeless in the pool. Next 2 times I watched and saw that it stopped within 15 minutes. I couldn't believe that I was one of the ones with the defective Tritons described by others. Just my luck. After 3 times trying on the FIRST day I packaged it up immediately and sent back. There better be no restocking charge after paying close to $1000 for a product that didn't perform as advertised. Let's see where this goes when the seller gets it back. Just so disappointed since I really liked the design and ease of use. Just wished it worked.

Just got mine today. In an hour and a half it's been stuck on my pool drain 3 times!😔

It’s not my first robot , but fist one from dolphin. So goods - slick, cheaper to run than extra pump , it scrubs , it’s programmable, it does waterline, thanks to decent motor it mixes up water as it moves way better than Polaris suction one did. Programmable and doesn’t make much noise. Bads - ( fairly regular shape medium size pool with deep end , smooth rising walls) - every other time - leaves half of pool walls untouched ( and so is waterline). App is a joke and it actually looses schedule entirely sometime. It doesn’t pick up leaves and larger bit all that well. Is it doing any better job than my aquabot did 4 years ago in other house ? Not really 800$ worth in difference . Is it better that suction Polaris ? Hell yeah. Overall - disappointing performance , after all the awesome reviews UPD: and now its completely dead.

overall ok, but time after time, it keeps missing the same spots on the bottom of the pool. It is very easy to use but frustrating after spending alot of money only to still have manually vacuum after this device finishes its cycle.

Got this just under two weeks ago and have been running it every few days. We have a fairly small rectangular fiberglass pool, about 16,000 gallons. This vacuum gets the pool cleaner, but often misses leaves at the bottom and other debris. Still better than manually vacuuming, but a little disappointed. The feedback and instructions on setting up the programming also is a bit lacking. I know this can be programmed to run daily, every other day, or every three days (and that's it, with no connection to bluetooth or any other programming), and it still seems to miss plenty of stuff on the pool (which is usually pretty clean to start with). It also recommends not to leave the robot in the pool while adding chemicals or while swimming, so the auto-programming every few days doesn't make a ton of sense. Lastly, the control unit states it's not waterproof, so I don't like to leave it outside where it can get rained on, which also seems like a bit of a poor design. I don't plan to submerge it, but at least having it water resistant and seriously splash proof would be suggested. I wonder if others just say screw it and leave it outside and connected all the time.

Bought a Triton ps first and returned it immediately. Robot was problematic from the get go. Order the triton plus, which is operating well. Great cleaning Goes almost everywhere Cleans tiles well Easy to clean the basket Easy to operate Remote control is ok, not too great but manageable. Only problem that I m seeing so far is at the moment that I remove robot from water part of the debris is falling back in the pool. I’m still trying to figure out if there is a problem with my basket or poor design. If anyone has an answer please share. Thank you

We had a Polaris Vac Sweep that just didn't clean very well. It was unreliable and often tangled itself into a knot, or it constantly ended up in the same spot in the pool again and again. The Dolphin Triton PS Plus has been fantastic. A one-hour cycle in the pool cleans up 99.9% of the debris, and it never gets tangled. If you want to manually guide the robot, you can do so with an app on your phone.

We really liked this Dolphin pool robot because the basket is so easy to clean. It cleans up large debris very well but is not so good with fine debris like sand or silt. However, the Triton stopped working right after the 2 year warranty expired so it gets 1 star. If I could give it zero I would, because this is totally unacceptable for a $999 pool robot. Our local Maytronics dealer won't even do a diagnostics test for us to see what is wrong because this model is only sold on Amazon and they won't work on Amazon models! So, now, I have to ship this to Maytronics, which will not be cheap and they might not even be able to fix it. We've owned 2 other Dolphin pool robots, the 1st lasted 7 years, the second lasted 4 years. They cost a fortune, they should last longer.

This robotic pool cleaner is easy to setup, easy to use, and cleans the areas it rolls over very well. However, overall it is disappointing for the following reasons. Our pool is a small to medium size play pool. The literature states the pool should be cleaned in a 2 hour cycle. Never. It has taken at least 2 separate 2 hour cycles to cover most of the pool. It does climb walls nicely but only cleans a maximum of a 1 foot section of the waterline per climb. There are large sections of the waterline it has never touched. The power cord "de-tangler" is a joke. There has NEVER been a cycle when the cord stayed untangled. In fact, several times the cord was so tangled and knotted, I had to manually straighten it out. The literature talks about this being an "intelligent" pool cleaner. Well, I think they left the brain out of my cleaner. I have watched this unit clean the same area over and over while missing large areas in it's 2 hour cycle. It's movements are totally random, often missing whole sections of the pool. Once during a 40 minute observation, I watched this unit clean the SAME 3 foot waterline section 4 times. It did not go to any other waterline section. Perhaps the most frustrating observation is this unit CONSTANTLY goes into a rocking motion - forward 1 foot, back 1 foot; forward 1 foot, back 1 foot. This lasts anywhere from 15 seconds to 1 minute. What a waste. I keep thinking how much more of the pool would be cleaned if this did not happen.

I bought this product at the suggestion of my pool service man. It seemed great at first. The electrical cord always needed to be unkinked. It is necessary to unplug to do this. It seemed like the brain resets each time and the robot would not remember the contours and steps of the pool. The basket was easy to empty and the only complaint I had was the power cord and memory for the first year. I emptied the basket one day and started it up. The Triton Dolphin worked for 3 feet and stopped. My pool service man said I would have to send it in to get it repaired under warranty. He mentioned he had a guy that can service them. He brought it back, it worked for 10 seconds and stopped. I threw it in the recycle bin. I feel ripped off. I feel if a customer has to pack it up in the original box and send it off for repair, the manufacturer really doesn't care about the consumer. $1100 for a pool sweeper seemed like a lot, and it was way too much in retrospect. My suggestion is to make service more accessible and don't make consumer a guinea pig for beta-testing.

Have an 18’ x 36’ in-ground pool. Does a good job climbing and scrubbing walls. Picking up debris on pool floor. I do not recommend using this robotic vacuum to clean up algae though. There are fine screens inside the basket, but not a good robotic vacuum for beginning of season sucking up algae. Good for regular maintenance during season

1st review- performed as advertised. One cycle cleaned the entire pool which was moderately dirty. Robot climbed walls up to waterline, over drains and on to steps and seats. I was waiting for it to miss any areas which it did not. At one point the robot was climbing exactly where the power cord was and did not chew it. Be aware: Power cord was close to limits in length. I have a pool which is about 35 feet in length and a power source which was about 19 feet from the pool. The 5ft cord the connects to the control box was the only reason I had enough length to cover the entire pool. I will try to give update in a few months.

This is my first written review. On bigger purchases I always read the reviews to hopefully make the right decision. Fired my pool company in the spring to save on summer expenses, bought the Triton. So glad I spent the extra money on this model. I researched them all, was reluctant to spend this much. The Triton has been flawless. I run it everyday, clean out the filter box every two or three days. We have a motorized pool cover so not many leaves but it gets its fair share open all day. The fine filter cleans the settled dust and pollen, picks up all the leaves leaving the water and bottom clear as it could be. It covers every inch, runs up the sides and hits the water line really well. It try’s on the steps but I don’t expect a robot to clean those. Takes a minute to hit it with a broom, all good. Buy it, you’ll love it. Good luck in your shopping.

It’s been a year since I purchased this item, very hesitant at first but since now owning it for a year I don’t think I could live without it, I put it in the pool every other day and it’s definitely has kept my pool filters cleaner an added way more life to them than without it. It is definitely worth it. In the winter I use the fine filters and in the summer months I use the regular filters, just because living in the desert you get a lot more sand blowing in the winter than you do summer.

I have an in ground plaster pool about 30 by 25 feet free form. I have used the Triton for 4 one hour cycles and each time it has cleaned the floor and walls pretty well. Emptying the collection basket is super easy, as is rinsing the filter screens. The cord had not become tangled or twisted. It also is able to climb up to the shallow shelf and clean that. Was concerned it would not be able to climb walls and steps but it has been great doing this. The water jets really do seem to press the unit against the walls when it climbs. When at the top of the wall it hovers there for a short while scrubbing the trim tile. Really nice. We also have a Poolfergnoogan (Spelling) suction side cleaner for the normal day to day cleaning. The Triton puts the debris into its collection basket rather than into the pool pumps strainer. So it keeps the pump running longer between servicing.

Lightweight machine that removes leaves and other debris well. It does not clean all around the pool but climbs and scrubs a few random places in the 2- hour cycle. The leaf basket is easy to remove and clean ; however, it is a pain to open the canister to get at the basket. I have considered returning it, but reading reviews of multiple machines, none are totally satisfactory. The Aqua Clean we had before cleaned very well, but was heavy and the filters were difficult to remove and replace. I did talk to the Dolphin service rep but was reluctant to send a brand new machine in for service. My Triton does not have remote control.

The media could not be loaded. I waited a while to write this, so I could see it in action over a few months. This little thing is worth every penny! It gets all the debris out of the pool that it comes across. Very easy to maintain, filters are easy to clean. Don’t get it twisted....this little robot will not let you be 100% lazy. Yes it climbs the walls/steps with ease, it will gather debris off the walls, however you still have to wipe the pool edge down to get the “ring around the collar” off. I use a magic eraser for that. I have seating areas in my pool and the little robot is to wide in the hips to get the debris off, so I just swipe over the top with my pool net and that debris goes to the bottom where the robot can get to it. All in all, I am amazed at how well this thing gathers everything it can get too.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this product since I have been a fan of Dolphin Robotic cleaner since around 2008. This would’ve been my 3rd awesome dolphin. But this one stopped working after less than a month. I know how it works, so I know I didn’t abuse it. I kept filter clean, but it would just stop after moving for a few seconds. I returned it and I got refunded less than half my money back. I’m not in a habit of returning items and I’ve been a prime Amazon member for a while. So, when a product fails in less than a month, I expect a full refund. Update: Wow, less than 24 hrs after I wrote this negative review, I’m issued a full refund. I haven’t received the money yet but I’m amazed with the speed it was handled. Now I’m not skeptical about Amazon anymore once again. This was a great move in their part. It keeps honest consumer like me to come back and purchase products from reputable company/seller such as this.

This great innovation is way better than the old school vacuums. However, this particular device could use some basic improvements to its program. It times out a lot when it gets "stuck" in too shallow of a space. It really needs to have a little program that backs it out the same way it got there. If you have to monitor it all the time to make sure it's not getting stuck, it's not much a robot. In addition, the cord kinks up a lot. You have to unwind it every week.

I am very happy with the cleaner itself, but if I use the app the pool cleaner will work 1 time and then after that if I open the app again it says Updating SOftware and never goes any further. Then the Power supply will blink red/green/blue. I have to then unplug it and it will work again as long as I only open the app once.

UPDATE: I returned the unit and received a full refund. Purchased a different model and it works like a champ. Our pool equipment was damaged in the big Freeze in Texas and we are using a Dolphin Sigma to keep our fool relatively clean. I'm seeing a lot of reviews where the dolphin simply stops running after a few seconds or a few minutes. That is exactly the experience we are having straight out of the box. We clean out the filter basket although it is empty; we clean out the impeller although it is clean and reassemble. It continues to not work. Do Not Buy. Not functional plus possible restockage fee.

The only thing that I don't like about this unit is that it does not blue tooth to your phone or there is not an app to turn it on with. You have to manually turn it on. It will run once a week, once every 2 weeks, or once every 3 weeks. Where we live in Texas it needs to run everyday. If I had known that I would have ordered a different model. Besides that I would have given it a 5-star.

I bought this and arrived in new condition. It only worked for 60 secs and quite. The bluetooth remote worked but that is not the purpose of buying this. Great communication and care from the seller and staff. Had to return product due to manufacturer defect (not their fault) and got a 100% refund in a very timely manner. A+ for these folks for customer service. I am buying another Dolphin because it was great for the 60 secs. I have faith that the Dolphin products are the best.

I love this vac. Simply drop it into the pool, plug it in and walk away! I have to pool clean in 2 hours or less. It automatically shuts off when completed. We just cut 10 large trees out of the yard and with all the chainsaw saw dust flying around this vac cleaned it beautify. The vac even picked up the large acorns 1" plus that fell into the pool, leaves, etc. and the holding compartment for all the junk is so large and easy to clean.

I've only had it for about 3 weeks now. I use it every day and it really cleans the pool well and is very easy to clean. The only issue is that the power button jambed in the on position such that it would not work at all. I called the service number and they sent a new one immediately. Hopefully I'll not have any more problems as it cleans extremely well and my pool has not been this clean in years.

Works as describes

This is a great buy. Purchased after breaking my second manual vacuum. Simply just set up, plug in and go about your day. Only drawback is that when the cycle is done you have to go fishing to get it out. It is lightweight, easy to operate and clean. opted out of the caddy, we just use a rubber tote for storage. Don’t know what advantage it would provide. Other issue I find is that it doesn’t do so well with cleaning angles but does get the job done. What it misses the kids kick up and filters out. Overall quite satisfied with this purchase and look forward to many years of a clean pool.

I had this robot for only 3 months before it stopped working. When I press the power button it now moves forward for 5 feet then stops and nothing else happens. After troubleshooting with the manufacture it was determined the unit was defective and I requested to have it replaced under warranty. They stated I would have to pay to have it shipped out and repaired. I don’t recommend this unless you want to risk it dying after only a few months and not have support help resolve the issue.

The Triton works amazing, it cleans like nothing I have used or seen before, it picks even small branches, twigs and nuts that fall in from trees. The only issue is the cord, when I looked into buying it the description mentioned it has a system which prevents the cord from getting tangle, well it does have a unit right above from where the cord connects to the unit; however it is practically useless. I have to constantly untangle it. The cord needs to be of a softer more malleable material, its simply to stiff and curls up on its self.

Had a bunch of crud at the bottom of the pool during my spring opening. This guy got it all up after two 3 hour sessions and multiple basket dumps. Used the fine filter to get the pollen and dust that remained on the floor. Some fungi and crud was stuck on and had tho be brushed off but the robot did a bang up job, waterline and stairs. Basket never got over 75% full before I dumped it, cord never tangled, it's very quiet, once it gets heavy from the accumulation it has trouble with the water lines & it's too big to get my stairs fully. We'll see how it does with longevity but I bought the Amazon 3 year extended warranty.

It misses spots of sand and ore not seem to go all the way around when it scrubs the waterline. Not exactly what I expected from a $850 machine built for this exact purpose. But it was free money thanks to the stimulus otherwise we wouldn't have bought it.

If you enjoy spending $1000 every 2-3 years for a product, this is for you! I was pleased with the operation of the robot. Very quickly the cord became a tangled mess and I could never get it straightened out--they have remedied this by offering a swivel on cables now. I made the cable work but planned to replace it--after about two years the cable started wearing out, cracks on the insulation, etc....I managed to get another year out of it, when the unit stopped working. I used a multi-meter to confirm that the power unit was fine, and I thought the cable was bad. I purchased a replacement cable (for $200!) with the swivel. When I hooked it up, no go. I took the unit into a local Maytronics service store, they were nice but explained that on these "internet models", every component is good except they save on the motors, and they were surprised that I got 3 years out of mine. I was surprised that they know this and continue to sell this brand. I had never heard that, but decided I probably don't want to replace the robot with this brand. And after a week they hadn't even looked at the robot for a diagnostic so I just went and picked it up....maybe the Maytronics virus spreads to their certified service personnel as well. I had to return the cable for a shipping fee, and now I'm stuck. I don't know what to buy to replace it, but it definitely won't be a Maytronics product. I just feel like something you pay that much for should last much, much longer.

I got this because our dolphin units kept breaking down. This unit works about the same as the dolphin with cleaning so I cant complain but I was hoping with the reviews it would clean a little better. It does do ALOT better with cleaning the sides/waterline of the pool where the dolphin didn't clean the waterline at all. Overall happy.

I spent hours reading reviews for various robot pool cleaners and decided this was the perfect fit for our needs. I wanted something easy to operate and clean, and does a good job cleaning the walls and waterline. Plus I didn't want another wifi enabled gadget or add another app to my already crowded cell phone. This is super easy to operate, just hook the vacuum into the power unit, put the cleaner in the pool, push the power button, and that's it. Two hours later, I get it out and rinse the basket, super easy. The Triton does a great job cleaning, no more slimy pool bottoms and walls. It really keeps the waterline clean. Does ok on steps, and really super everywhere else. So happy with this purchase, love our little cleaner! It has saved us so much time, and the pool is always clean and ready to use.

So happy I made the decision to purchase the Dolphin Triton! It does the job! No complains!

***UPDATE*** Now the thing doesn’t even work! It just says it’s “turned off” no matter how many times I try on the app and manually. Even unplugging and plugging back in doesn’t make a difference! A complete waste of $1200!!!!! Bought this because my old Polaris has several broken parts and issues. This thing sucks! It literally picks up nothing. Especially small debris..just spits it right back out. It’s a pain to clean, you have to disassemble the basket and spray everything with the hose because junk is trapped everywhere. The Polaris is so efficient, this doesn’t even compare. Big waste of money!

The tangle free cable still tangles. They need to improve this feature. This is our 3rd Dolphin

i have had this two years.it has stopped. working. the do not have parts to repair this. a lot of money for two years. seller did not get back to me.

I purchased the Dolphin Triton PS 2 months ago and now the product doesn't work. Whenever I turn it on the robot moves about 5 feet ahead for about 5 seconds, then only goes in reverse for about 10 seconds. After running backwards the product will stop dead in the water. I've cleaned the robot daily and store it out of water. I've taken apart the robot to see if there was any debris or anything clogging any of the motor parts. There was none! I would hope that after spending nearly 1,000 dollars on a pool cleaning robot that it would actually work correctly. My pool looks worse then ever and my workload on the pool has doubled now since buying this piece of junk. Please be aware of these issues before purchasing

We just had a new pool put in and there was a ton of dirt, leafs and pebbles in the bottom. Did a pretty good job at picking all that stuff up. Pretty lightweight and easy to drop in pool. The only thing so far it can't do is climb our stairs. This model has no remote.

Poor climbing and doesn't entirely cover pool

Best pool cleaner. It's easy to use and does a fantastic job. We got this right after the pool was opened and it cleaned up the pool unbelievably. This thing even does the walls and water line, so very little for us to do except clean it out and skim the top of the pool. It picked up all the leaves and scum from the pool. I would highly recommend this product for all pool owners.

One 2 - 3 hour pass will leave a few spots so I just brush them around a bit and run it again. Still works better than the pump powered Polaris but could work better.

It picked up so much more from our pool during its run than our previous Hayward cleaner.

There are few products that Work better and longer and more reliably than I had hoped.. This is one of them.. We love this robot . It is excellent. Glad we bought it. Finishing up our 3rd year with with it and using it every day. Never a problem with it

The cleaner works fantastic! The caveat, however, is you have to plug it all on to the power source and let it set for a bit. I followed the directions but couldn't get it to do anything. I repeated the process a few times, and suddenly it just started working as it is supposed to. The clean up is about as good as I could wish for and I am absolutely satisfied.

Product worked well out of the box. No real issues, as it cleared up all the leaves and pebbles very nicely. One negative....the power unit will not work in hot weather. It was a hot day, maybe 105 and the unit would not move. After bringing it inside and cooled off in the A/C I retried it and it worked without issues.

Pool cleaner came out of the box ready to go. Went right to the walls and cleaned very well. I have only been using it for two weeks but so far it is doing a great job. We have many acorns that fall into the pool and the Triton picked them right up. Very easy to clean and was very thorough on the walls which the Hayward struggled with.

We've vacuumed pools for 27 years. Got sick of the hose and pole routine. We've had this for 2 years and clean the Florida pool once a week with it. Before this our pool was cloudy and never quite clean. Just once a week and now we never have green algae, not cloudy, super clean. It has paid for itself 3x over. Super easy to clean. You just have to take care of it. Use to store it upside down in a large plastic storage container but the wolf spiders liked the container also so bought the cart for it this year and life is even easier now.

***Late update: There is a little bit of a learning curve with the Dolphin, but after two summers of use, I would not do without one! ***Update: After a little trial and error, I have seen improved results from the Dolphin. The Dolphin still rarely climbs the walls of my pool but has been better at picking up sediment. I will say, customer support has been extremely prompt, even contacting me to follow up when I had not yet sent them a video they had requested. I will update further once we have completed troubleshooting. Arrived a day earlier than anticipated, which was nice...and that is about it. Does not climb walls or stairs. Barely collects any debris from pool; leaves, algae or otherwise. Has an affinity for the deep end, even when started in the shallow end.

We keep our pool open year round and were looking for a great cleaner. Reviews and information provided on this website by Pool Zoom seemed great. We ordered it, turns out after 2-3 months of digging into it with customer service at Maytronics (because Pool Zoom pawns you off to the maker of the product and doesn't provide any support or help), this product does not work in temperatures below 46 degrees. Due to little to no help from the representative at Pool Zoom through amazon, they will not issue a refund or take the defective product back. It will only work during the spring/summer time & warm temps, thus defeating the purpose of cleaning through the fall & winter. It has been some of THE WORST customer service we have ever received from any company. Maytronics was very kind & helped us get to the root of the actual problem, but since the product wasn't purchased directly through them they will not offer a refund. Maytronics was kind enough to send us a new one and we sent them the old one. After the new one still not working and many phone calls, we figured out what it really was. Had there been information provided on the website stating this product doesn't work in temperatures below a certain degree, we would have never purchased this product. So now we do not have the original cleaner and it's been 3.5 months of back & forth, and we are out $950. Pool Zoom takes NO responsibility or provides any help if you are having an issue with the product they provide. I would highly recommend purchasing through another company other than Pool Zoom or straight through Maytronics themselves.

Just got this unit maybe 90 minutes ago. Was excited to try it out and followed all unboxing instructions (really very little instructions btw). One pamphlet says it's critical to remove plastic around the foam rollers so i spent 5 minutes looking for the plastic....not there. Then i see an asterisk stating that not all models have this. Great...so i'm given generic instructions that don't even apply to my unit (Dolphin Triton PS). Instructions don't explain AT ALL what the buttons on the control panel even mean or do. But it does conveniently state plug it in to power (GFCI) and then plug in the units power cable and unkink the cable. No problem. Hit the big power button as it states (limited instructions state just hit the big power button and nothing else and it'll just start cleaning). NOPE. No cleaning. Nothing happening. Panel lights up..i can hit the button under the "1/2/3" options (which does state this is the automated frequency cycle if you leave the unit permanently plugged in). There are two additional buttons which don't light up or do anything when pressed. The big button lights up solid blue and the 1/2/3 button lights up and i can toggle between those three but nothing happens. Again...first impression for a brand new $900 robot....1 star. I'll update when i learn more or do more trouble shooting but i've now been online trying to research the control panel and why not all buttons work and can't find anything. Very disappointed so far for a brand new robot.

Bought this to replace a worn-out pool-pump associated robot. This unit was very pricey so I had big expectations as a result. It delivers speed and suction. The pool looks good in 1-2 hours. It is easy to use as well. It lost a star for not having the cart with it. The unit technically operates without a cart and you can store it upside down between uses BUT since you can't leave it in the sun or on the ground unless upside down (with something under it unless you want the top scratched) and there's a long cord and the unit itself is heavy, most people who can afford this unit will not fool with the aggravation of not having a cart long-term to save $100. It lost a second star for not doing a good job on corners or where the pool bottom meets the sidewalls - I have to brush those now and the old unit did not leave that.

I Had a Dolphin for 2.5 years and it quit working. Luckily I had the extended warranty which was excellent and I was able to replace it with this model the updated version of my previous unit. This one worked for 7 days, 1 week. The Seller wanted a 20% restocking fee to exchange the unit! I was able after 2-30minute calls to get Maytronics to replace the unit, Kudos to them. Thumbs down to the 20% restocking fee from BackyardPoolSuperstore. The replacement unit is working now for more than a week so far so good. Hopefully, it will last longer than the original unit, if not I have the extended warranty on this one too!

App is very limited and poorly implemented. No alerts, power on function is different with vs. without app, timer doesn't countdown. The Bluetooth connection has very limited range and disconnects often. Seems the app's sole purpose is to manually control the robot. The robot is fine. It's smart enough not to go too deep into main drain and get stuck (unless I force it there manually). But it has trouble climbing some steep steps (yet it can climb steeper walls). It climbs walls better than the Nautilus. Filter basket is very picky in its locking mechanisms, but not bad once you get the hang of it. Don't pay more for this over the Nautilus because of the app or Bluetooth connection. Maybe consider it for the better wall climbing.

Just received it today, did the setup, eased robot into pool and it ran for about an hour then stopped working. Power supply has red light, retrieved robot from pool to check track system and filter, neither had any issue. Tried several more times, same results, only this time it will only work for a minute then stop (red light power supply/controller). Thus far it's the front runner to the worst $1000 I've ever spent. However, I will work with manufacturer to see if they can turn this robot around relatively quickly prior to returning. Part 2 (for 2) Worked with Maytronics support and they sent me a "new" unit or attempted to repair the original and gave it a new serial number? I say this because I have the same exact issue the original. Worked for an hour and died (again). Power supply light goes solid red after short start sequence it just stops dead in its tracks. Stunned at the good reviews read here because I'm 2 for 2 and that's just astonishing folks.

This pool cleaner works very well. It climbs the walls and cleans so that we no longer need to scrub the walls with a brush. It collects everything - large and small and our pool is really clean. The best part is removing the filter to empty the debris. My husband tells me that this is much easier than the other more expensive unit we had. We are very happy with it after using it for a month.

When I received this, I noticed the control pad did not work properly. At the time the unit would work so I sent a note to the seller requesting they send me a new control pad. They never responded and recently the unit has quit working but I missed the return window waiting on feedback from the seller. One of the few disappointments out off hundreds of Amazon purchases over the years.

The suction power was okay, it was relatively easy to use but it only worked for 2 weeks.

This pool cleaner replaced one that was only 6 years old and died on us. It was very disappointing but we were happy to see that in that time, automatic pool cleaners have come a long way. We love this new pool robot. It really gets our pool super clean and runs great. It climbs the walls and even gets down to the deepest part of our pool which is oddly shaped but no match for this pool cleaner. So far, we are thrilled with it - hope it lasts many years!

Many positive reviews for this thing but we had a poor experience. Worked great for 1 summer then crapped out. Simply will not turn on. Backyardpool supply does not have a phone number with anyone to talk to...all automated and amazon messaging which is a drag. We will keep you posted on the process and update this review with any progress. This thing cost $1000 dollars --- Come on

Purchased for use in our 33' diameter above ground pool. Worked like a charm right out of the box. App and robot were easy to use and I have zero complaints. Seems like a significant improvement over sucking all the leaves and worms and whatnot that were in the bottom of the pool from over winter into the skimmer and sand filter. So long as it keeps working, we'll be loving this robot.

****Update**** After one year, although the Dolphin Triton PS is still doing a fantastic cleaning job, The only feature on the power block working is the power button! None of the programmable features, which I used once last year, are working. Currently in hold for over an hour (probably thanks to COVID19) WORK Maytronics warranty center. I almost didn't buy another Dolphin. I've been through two. However, the reviews were solid and I concur. Plus, I tried and returned another brand that simply wasn't worth the money. This model is easy, lightweight, programmable, and has a large debris capacity. Season 2: I love it! Used it to open my pool and it's just flawless. Climbs the stairs, the walls - all the way to the top. Fantastic job. Easy to open and clean. Programmable.

I bought this last summer and, after it sat all winter in my garage, it now wont pick up the debris. I had a dolphin previously that worked beautifully for 5 years, but this one is already broken. I'm truly disappointed

I had an iRobot Mira that this unit replaced. The Mira did a better job overall, but was much harder to clean. This unit does a very good job and is very easy to clean and holds a lot. I only need to clean it about twice a month.

I decided to get triton ps plus because I had triton ps for the past years and was okay . But triton ps plus after a week didn't want to connect to the wifi and to the vaccum so basically with out wifi connection the is ps plus is just a regular ps , the wifi is not good not stabile is not worth it to get a pool vacuum with wifi , to bad because the ideea is good

I like the suction power and it doesn't eat the cored

We have had a Dolphin pool cleaner for years and have loved it. We decided to upgrade this year and have been extremely disappointed in both the product and the seller. It worked for about 2 weeks. Now it moves forward about 6 inches and then reverses that same amount. Back and forth in the same spot until it just stops. I called Amazon. They contacted the seller and I received an email stating that they would have a tech support agent get ahold of me. I have not heard back from them and it has been 10 days nows.

It doesn't clean the corners

Researched and thought I was getting a good product. Registered with Maytronics the day I received it. Robot only ran about 20 minutes the first time we put it in the pool. Took it out, cleaned basket, tried again. Only ran for about 20 seconds that time and just stopped. Ran through all the Maytronics Troubleshooting tips, reached out to Maytronics Customer Service. They gave 1 other tip which didn't work either. Returning is a JOKE!! Seller (Backyard Pool Superstore) requires a 20% up to 50% RESTOCKING fee! What??? Lots of money for a defective product. My product was a LEMON!! and I am sour!

The WiFi capability is great. I can turn it on/off or change the schedule from anywhere. My big dislike is the unit tips over on my steps and can’t right itself. What that means is I can’t use the wall climbing function when we’re not home. I have to switch it to bottom cleaning only. Since we travel often I’m only getting 50% of its capability less than 50% of the time.

Don't buy ANY Dolphin pool cleaning robot. They're all junk that will break on you in 2 years or less. I've owned 2 in 4 years and they both died on me in 20 months. But bear in mind, that isn't 20 months of run time because half that time they were in storage over the winter. The first one was part of the pool builders package. After almost exactly 2 years it died. But half that time was no use, winter storage. The last one I bought (triton) ran 11 months out of the 20 months total of ownership....at a price just north of $900. Now it's pool season and I have to ship my Dolphin robot to New York from South Carolina for "warranty work". One can only guess as to what aggravation that is going to entail. But with pool season upon us, I don't have the option to wait until the warranty folks feed me their multiple excuses and blame covid endlessly for all the inevitable parts delays. So, I broke down, ponied up the dough and finally bought a Polaris from my local pool store. If it turns out to be a lemon like the 2 Dolphins, my family better get used to a leaf covered pool liner because I will never buy another one of these overpriced things again.

Had this in the pool for the first run today, and the powersupply control panel looks like it will delaminate. There is a big air pocket behind the buttons that expand in the heat, I do not think this will last very long but will contact seller to see what they can do about this since I looked to return it, but they charge 20% on all returns so be careful ordering from the BackyardPoolSuperstore

I’ve been using a Zodiac Mx-8 for years.. here’s what I can say. This is 10,000% better!! Super simple, very easy to use and setup, clean etc. and more effective, and energy efficient that putting strain on your filter system. I drop it in every 2-3 days (palms close to the pool that drop all manner of detritus in the pool) .. the “nuts” would stall the old suction vac. The Triton picks them up and keeps going. The pool is spotless now - I should have bought this thing years ago.

I was disappointed that this did not suck up small dirt. It was fine for larger things in my pool but would just move the dirt around. Also It would get stuck quite a bit on the stairs.

The media could not be loaded. No more cleaning the pool with the hose! I looked at so many models and read so many reviews that I became overwhelmed with complaints even on the most expensive models. This guy seemed to fall in the middle of the price range and gave the same amount of good & bad reviews as the most expensive. I’m very happy I went with this one. We’ve been running this guy every night and the pool is pristine. Climbs the walls and has great suction. The first time we ran it we couldn’t believe what it removed after only 15 minutes.

Dirt line is always left which goes across the pool where the wall meets the bottom. I like everything besides that . My husband doesn’t care but $900 is too much not to do all the cleaning like it says. May return it.

We have cycled this 15 times over the last 3 days and it will not clean the entire pool. We had a dust storm the day we got it so we assumed we would have to run it several times to get it all but 15 cycles and 2 days later, dirt just keep accumulating in the consistently missed spots. It does a good job in the areas it hits, but it doesn't learn the pool or just consistently misses parts. Called the manufacturer first, as they are the ones that built it but Maytronics could not have cared less and tried to blame the way we operated it. Pretty sure you can't mess up a single "on" button. We have cleaned it, reset it, taken it out for a while, left it in. Nothing changes. Before I just return it, I have contacted the seller here so we'll see if they are more helpful. Loved the old Dolphin we had for 10 years, but Maytronics customer service is awful and this Dolphin seems like junk. It is not capable of cleaning all of anything but a perfectly square or rectangle pool. Update: Don't buy from this seller!! They hide their refund policy and were only going to refund 50% of a product that did not function as described. Even if you dont open it, they charge you 20% restocking! Horrible customer service and could not care less. Amazon to the rescue again and they, just as customer service, gave me a refund! Thank you Amazon!

it seems if you have some leaves in pool it sucks up the fine dirt better than if your just sweeping the pool. Its seems to have trouble in valleys and dents in floor of pool liner

I like the design & I love how easy the basket is to take out and clean...much better than the old cloth inserts. However, it misses a lot of spots in our large rectangular pool. Even with the filters in for the finer dirt and sand we still have several places in our pool that have dirt on the floor & walls even after I run it for two cleaning cycles. It's not horrible, but it's definitely not as good as our older Dolphin D3 that died after six years.

Only had it for 3 days, so far so good, not sure yet if it covers the whole pool. Seems like it misses a couple areas. Also it didn’t seem to suction a few small leaves as it rolled over them? Give it more time and I’ll know for certain.

This worked much better than my old Polaris with booster pump. It climbs walls and gets most areas of the pool. I still have to brush the top step and a few areas where the plaster bottom meets the vertical fiberglass walls. Much less than I was doing before. The fine filter gets the dirt and dust, but not the heavier granules that wash in from my composite shingles after a heavy rain. The normal filters don't get the fine dust and dirt, so I have to change them after it rains. The Amazon description said there was a $50 rebate when I bought mine, which was not accurate. I see they have corrected that now.

The Dolphin Triton PS has exceeded all expectations I had for the product. It’s scrubbing wall capabilities are excellent and it cleans the whole pool. It will pick up very large size debris with ease. The waste basket is very easy to remove and clean. All in all the product is excellent I don’t think it’s possible to find a better pool cleaner!

You know the saying, don't trust the bad reviews because those are the people quick to write the review. Not those with a good experience. Unfortunately I fell into the trap. I believed the good reviews and disregarded the bad ones. But I'm here to tell you that the product is as bad as the others state. The robot was essentially defective on arrival. After one use, the power supply completely shut down. I called the manufacturer, which offered to ship me a new one. They claimed the power supply had 'malfunctioned.' Four days later, guess what arrived? You guessed right! Another 'malfunctioned' power supply. This was a tremendous addition to a robot that misses corners, stops repeatedly during cleans, and has a painfully underdeveloped phone app. Calling them back will ultimately result in them offering to snail-mail me another defective power supply. So I did what anyone else would do, turn to Amazon. Here's the kicker - Amazon refuses to help you. They tell you to file a 3rd party claim and deal with the seller and leave them out of it. Thanks for the help guys! I'm glad I spent $1000 on this item only to be told to file a claim so that I can receive a refurbished version of this pile of junk. Maybe I'll eventually get a new robot before the end of the summer. Fingers crossed!

This thing was twice as expensive as my old DX3, it started acting Flakey almost immediately, after 27 days complete communication failure. Mattronix support says I have to send it to nearest repair facility, one would think failure inside 30 days would Constitute a warranty replacement. I’ll see how this pans out and update this rating As needed. Out Of The box it Does not Clean as well As the old DX3. I foolishly thought up paying for More Sophisticated features and controls would be a Boon, unfortunately it’s a bust, I could not In good faith recommend this Product.

I don’t think this vacuum is worth the money. I have run this for back to back 2 hour cycles and it did not pick up every piece of dirt. I think the jet the pushes it up the wall pushes the dirt off the bottom of the pool so sucking up the dirt does not happen as well as I would expect a $849 pool vacuum would do. At best I would price this around $200. Vacuuming by hand works way better in less time.

This Dolphin Triton PS Plus pool cleaner arrived quickly. Packaging was great and kept it protected. We set it up and put it to work. This unit worked well, it moves across the pool and cleans the bottom and the sides. This has helped us clean our pool very well. It is easy to clean, and with the app you can control it to clean an area more if you want or control it, to move to the edge of the pool, to take out and clean/put it up. This unit works very well, and it easy to move afterwards.

It is very easy to use and does a good job of cleaning the small particles but it has a hard time picking up large leaves . Overall I am very pleased with the performance and we only use it every 3- 4 days and the pool stays very clean, Were we had a Polaris an we had to have it on daily. We have only had it a month so hopefully it will last for several summers.

The media could not be loaded. I had just opened the pool a week before Memorial Day and it was green, been there before and know what it takes to clean. While I was running the pump and putting the chemicals in I knew in the end I have to clean the bottom of the pool from the algae but I got the Dolphin cleaner and ran it 6-7 times cleaning out the basket each time and was so pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Now I have the finer filter in and run it three times a week and wow! It’s great.

The stuff that is sucked out of my pool! I didn't realize how inefficient my last cleaner was. My pool guy was excited to see this in the bottom of the pool. He said what he liked is that the cable on this one will not twist up and have to be constantly straightened out. It's expensive but worth every pretty penny.

The media could not be loaded. Looked like a promising robot but beware! It stopped working after 5 minutes. I checked the impeller to be sure nothing was stuck, wasn't. Just died after 5 minute sof use. Now I have to pack it all up, return it and then apparently I have to wait for the store to approve my credit? That is extremely frustrating. I will update this review once everything is settled (or not) 05/24/19- Updated review - form 1 to 3 stars. The seller sent a new unit and that one is working fine and doing a good job. It doesn't climb all walls very high but it definitely cleans out the pool (lot of trees in our backyard). 3 stars only because I am still slightly concerned about the durability of the robot given other reviews and my first experience.

This was an upgrade from our Dolphin Nautilus (which we loved). The Triton was able to clean the sand and small pebbles the Nautilus could not pick up. The top load basket is great, but we need some practice getting the filters back in after we have cleaned them. We recommend the cleaner.

Purchased this a couple of weeks ago and I am absolutely impressed. Fall is upon us and I have a tone of stuff falling into the pool. This is keeping up on the maintenance for us and keeping things looking great. It has been a lifesaver for us. The pool is much cleaner than it's ever been, even with a pool company taking care of it. Love this thing.

** UNDATED ** 6/30/19 So after I posted a Great Review, it Stoped Working! Just my Luck. I’m in the middle of returning this unit for a refutable hope all goes well. I’m very disappointed because I Really Loved this thing. We contemplated on getting one of these and spending this much money.... But I’m Glad I Did!! This thing is Great!! Drop it in the pool every 2 or 3 days to keep it Fresh and clean. Or drop it in a before Company, or after company. I don’t look at this as a purchase for my pool... Mire like an Investment!! Saves time and keeps the pool Clean!! 100% Recommend this Little Tool.

The Triton is amazing! If you’re undecided and reviewing robotic pool cleaners like I was then I suggest to get this one. You can’t control this with your cell phone but you don’t need to. This pool cleaner does everything that the company says it does in their advertisement. It is very easy to clean. We did buy the extended 3 year warranty that Amazon offers with this product that was only an extra $75. I would definitely recommend this product!

This product does not scrub the water line as mention. I rarely saw it climb the walls. It does not pick up majority of the leaves. I read the questions and removed the cloth that said it would allow it to then pickup leaves, well nothing stays in basket without that part. The power supply has always been under my covered porch, yet the plastic piece for the display is lifting. It doesn’t work as advertised, and is obviously not going to hold up. Now I’m concerned based on the reviews I’ve read that I will not receive a full refund. I rarely return items but this isn’t worth the money, and obviously wasn’t built to last.

Our pool was gross after a fall and winter of leaves and junk. This robot had our pool super clean after several cycles. It really adds to the life span of the pool filters. The filtration is super easy to clean and use. The random pattern some how works to do a good job cleaning. I think this is robot is well made. *update- we’ve had a windy season and junk continues to blow in. The robot is amazing. I haven’t vacuumed since I got it.

Very impressed with this cleaner. With the standard filter it did a good job with all by the fine particles. Then I used a fine filter for the rest. Very happy with this purchase.

I had a older Dolphin model, which died on me this year .... however, this model was much easier to clean. Only had it for a few weeks but so far... does a great job cleaning the pool. For the price, I really do think it should have come with its own caddy... no other complaints so far and hoping it will last me a few years! Have not used the app yet (I saw that the app had mixed reviews)

The power supply for our reliable 20 year old dolphin died on us so we decided, instead of forking out $300+ to replace the power supply, we would upgrade the entire unit to enjoy the latest technology--particularly the features of having an app to control the unit remotely. Just received the dolphin 3 days ago and was immediately disappointed. The unit got stuck on the drain and could not free itself. As far as overall cleaning, our 20 year old dolphin ran circles around this one. And, the app manual steering is clumsy and not easy to use. Extremely disappointed. With BackyardPoolSuperstore's return policy being 50% restocking fee, it looks like we're stuck with it, $1100 poorer. I am attempting to contact BackyardPoolSuperstore to see if they'll work with me and will update my review if something positive comes out of it. UPDATE: BackyardPoolSuperstore required us to contact Maytronics to see if there was anything wrong with the unit. After a painful process to talk to their customer service department and troubleshoot the unit, they wanted us to send it in to them. Who knows how long that process would take to get it back and being in New England, our swimming season is already short so I told the retail store this and demanded they let me ship it back to them for a full refund. After a bit of back and forth, they finally allowed us to do this, to their credit.

The large basket was what I needed because there are many trees behind my property. I get a lot of debris/\. So far the unit has worked well. For the dirst few days the basket was 3/4 dull. Now it is only 1/4 full.

Dead out of the box. Going through the hassle of returning for replacement. Will update review after the process is complete

Love it! It's pricy though you get what you pay for! Also had a bit of a problem at the beginning though customer service was on point! Even for a call back for a follow up! Clean my pool at the least twice a day. Easy to clean and easy to use!

This thing worked great at first but broke while still under warranty. I paid $65 to ship it to the manufacturer. It was gone for several weeks. When I received it back it worked fine for a while but now it’s broken again. $973 down the drain.

Cleaner was great for the first day of use. It climbed the walls without issue, climbed steps, easy to clean filters, very long power cable for ample movement. Unfortunately after the first day the cleaner stopped running for more than 10-15 mins at a time. I confirmed that there was no debris or anything tuck in the impeller, cleaned the filter multiple times, checked gears, the whole 9 yards. At one point I watched the cleaner climb up the wall cleaning the water line, completely stop then fall over dead to the bottom of the pool. Power supply was fine, it was not on any type of half cleaning cycle as indicated by the instructions. Contacted the manufacturer and they sent a troubleshooting guide. Did everything listed and it still wouldn't run more than 10 mins afterwards. Packed it up and sent it back for a full refund. I most likely got a lemon or maybe there's an issue with the motor but I should not have to struggle with a brand new pool cleaner that almost cost $1k after only 24 hours. I'll look into a better model in the future once my refund processes fully.

My pool is under a tree that sits on my neighbor's property and drops leaves, nuts, pollen, and more into my pool year round. We were brushing and raking the pool twice daily until this little guy arrived. Now... The pool no longer drives me nuts and Dolphin leaves the pool clean and ready for swimming. LOVE IT! The seller provided a great buying experience too, so don't be afraid to order from these guys!

Agree with many other reviews. I have had 6 Dolphins in 8 years becuase they don't last at all. Last year my unit did same thing- ran for 5 minutes and stopped. Looked completely lost while it ran. So I bought a new Triton midsummer. Worked well until pool closed in October. Just opened pool and this unit is doing exact same thing. I have never had a Dolphin work more than 2 years (6month season where I live), and they alway fail same way. And customer support is worst I have ever encountered.. Just keep dumping hundreds of dollars on new ones, cuz I don't know what other options there are.. I would be completely ashamed if I ran this company.

I keep this baby in the pool all the time and it helps a bunch with the 3 large trees that hang over it. 8 months of use and it's still going strong. Fills the big basket to the brim every week, then I just pop it out, pop it open, spray it and put it back to work for the week. Much better than any pool cleaner I have had before. Totally worth the price. Awesome robot, well engineered.

Worked fine initially. Now it works for 15 minutes and stops. Went through the recommended troubleshooting including making sure that the tracks and impeller are free of debris to no avail. The robot stopped working after 32 days - exactly 2 days after the AMAZON return window was closed. The manufacturer has instructed me to send the unit to an authorized warranty repair shop at my expense. Please search the internet for "dolphin robot stops after 15 minutes" before purchasing this product. This seems to be a common issue with these Maytronics robots.

Yes, this is a lot of money, but it does a FANTASTIC job cleaning the pool. You're wasting your money if you are buying something else. The only thing I don't like about this product is the programmable cycle. Once the first cycle end, a blue light flashes bright all the time - which is annoying, so you cancel the program.

This unit I upgraded to from a lower priced Dolphin and glad I did as this gets my freeform pool very clean. Super easy to clean the filters and nice to be able to over ride it Nd drive it with my iPhone to direct it to places in need of some extra love. Great unit though a little pricey. My last Dolphin lasted me 16 years so hopefully this one goes the distance too.

Great unit, but......it does not clean around my steps very well. Other than that, absolutely no complaints. The filter system is awesome-open unit pull out the filter and rinse; that is it. EASY. EASY. EASY. You can even change the filter type; very nice feature. I did not purchase the blue tooth unit - however i feel that i should have for the extra bucks just so i could remote control the unit to some of the missed spots on the pool. Other than that, i am a happy camper.

Just buy this product if you’re like me and sitting and thinking about it. My pool is Vinyl and 20x40 and it works amazing. Sucks up everything in it’s path and the hug waste basket inside is very nice as well. I love it and it’s definitely worth the money.

This is my first robotic pool cleaner. It's amazing! Cleans the pool so well I cannot believe it. Only issue is it keeps getting stuck on my drain, but I have a tall drain cover so I will figure that one out. If you can afford it, get the upgraded model with the third roller, it will not get stuck and adds the phone controls.

This is our second Dolphin pool cleaner and it appears to have noticeably mor suction than the cccplus model. Also we notice much better water edge cleaning. Very pleased so far

The vac ran properly one time. Two hours and then stopped - as it should. The problem is that no matter what schedule you set up, it wouldn't run more than a few minutes after the first day. We attempted several things: checked the impeller to make sure it wasn't blocked, turned the unit off and waited several minutes before plugging back in (it ran, at most 10 minutes after this). Requested a refund and received shipping label from the seller (Pool Zoom) which we had to pay shipping costs ($65) but they also require you call manufacturer first. We did this, and again went through the troubleshooting steps. Still not working. Tech support agreed there was a problem with the unit. We returned it to Pool Zoom for our refund. 7 days after the vac was received by the seller, we emailed them & the refund was processed. However we are still out the cost of returning the defective vac & are awaiting their response to our request for the $65.08

I had a Dolphin Premier I never much liked...and it lasted less than two full years. I wanted to try another brand but none looked as good as the description for the Dolphin Triton PS model so that's what I ordered. Glad I did. It's far superior in every way to the Premier model. Better coverage of the entire pool. Much better at cleaning the sides and vertical surfaces...and most important to me (especially in the fall), holds way more leaves than the Premier did. It's a little cumbersome to clean but not too bad

Update April 2021: be careful with the cord, it cost over $200 to replace. My son ran over it with an edger. Ridiculous price for basically and extension cord with a proprietary connection end. Otherwise: Much better than expected. Lives in my pool and cleans daily. We only remove it when we swim. I fired my pool guy, don’t need him anymore. My pool sparkles now!

Thing worked great for about 6 weeks and then motor went out. Called to fix it under warranty and I have to pay to ship to them plus packaging in order to get it repaired. Think twice before buying anything from this company and be prepared to have a crappy warranty.

Unfortunately, like some of the other reviews I’ve seen, it only ran for 15 minutes and then would no longer work. Kinda sad when you buy 1000$ pool cleaner and doesn’t work. Maybe I’ll give the DX4 a try but I would be careful buying a Triton PS, seems like there are a lot of lemons out there.

Not really impressed, it is not cleaning the white water marks on the pool, It will scrub randomly but does not remove it. It does not seem to pick up any algae, it will pick up bigger things like leaves, dirt and such. I had very high hopes with this especially considering the price and upgrading to the higher unit. My pool is fiberglass, it has no direction or camera.

Terrible, like every other pool product stopped moving 2 years and 1 month after the 2 year warranty expired! Most likely will cost a bunch of money to fix. Absolutely terrible. Chemicals in my pool always balanced! Same thing happened to the last dolphin product (premier) bought that in 2017 died in 2019. $2500 into pool cleaners with this brand. Pick another brand. When they work they work well, but they are like a car with a check engine light pre-programmed. Total crap.

This is an awesome product. We live in a hilly area where the late afternoon wind blows dust, pollens, and particulate matter into the pool day after day. Since purchasing this product my pool has never looked better. Based on the position of my home I am able to see the pools of several of my neighbors. There is absolutely no comparison. My pool is sparkling. Excellent product. This is my fourth pool robot and by far the best.

I wanted this to work but right out of the box it would clean for 5 minutes or less. I have left 3 reviews in my lifetime (I'm 50) and this is the first negative one. From the get go the cover over the controls had started to bubble up after 2 hours in the sun. The unit itself would only clean for about 5 minutes at a time and I had to unplug the unit for a minute or more to get it to run again. Long story short I wish it had worked out.

Working well so far. Gets stuck on the drain sometimes but that’s not a big deal & doesn’t do it often. I need to check if this was supposed to come with a remote because if so we did not get it.

I really like the sweep . Excellent for leaves and picks up really well . However, there are few downsides it’s heavy, it’s only remote if your near it not like you can be anywhere and start it.

Over the years, we have gone through several types of pool cleaners. Most would get clogged easily, clog the filters, etc. then we hired a pool service charging $200 per month. Looking for another option! This was our first purchase of a robotic pool cleaner and we LOVE it. Throw it in the pool and 2 hours later, the pool is spotless....do that once or twice a week and we are good to go. Also, love that is scrubs the walls and steps! The first time we ran it, it picked up things that we did not even see. The best thing is that we don't have to go through the laborious task of cleaning pool filters as often.

Cleans our inground pool pretty good. My kids take care of the pool and they love it so much that they named him Alfred!

Excellent customer service. They have honored my warranty on two major repairs. New wheels which had stopped spinning then a brand new motor that died prior to its two year warranty. Hope it lasts me at least 5 more years.

This guy is great. Cleans the pool great. The best thing is its ability to surface and clean the tile coping at the water line. Just a blast to watch it work. Has trouble on the stairs but what robot doesn't. I sweep those then let him do his thing. I am having trouble finding a place to mount the control box but for now its lays on the pool deck while the robot does its thing. Took out a Polaris 180 that required a 240V booster pump. Haven't seen the electric bill yet but I imagine this is much cheaper to operate and it is silent compared to the booster pump.
