The Wybot C1 Robotic Pool Cleaner has the following:
  • Always Charging. Never Cleaning. - One of the biggest downsides during our testing is the constant need to recharge. Unlike corded models, we would have to recharge the unit for multiple hours before being able to run a 2nd full length cycle.
  • No NanoFiltration - A feature we have come to love is NanoFilters. These filters allow the pool robot to capture more algae and debris, but the Wybot C1 didn't include them or any additional filters.
  • Weaker Motors - In comparison to ProLine motors, the Wybot C1's performance was rather lackluster in our pool.
  • Disappointing App - The app and its technology is not close to other pool robots we have tested. It could use better design and has some connectivity issues. We recommend robots with Wi-Fi, so you can connect from anywhere.
  • Poor Navigational Performance - It struggled to get around ladders and obstacles in our pool
  • Inadequate Support and Warranty - Some users report poor customer service and difficulties in getting warranty support, which can be a significant issue if the device malfunctions

Wybot C1 Review

An In-Depth Review by Robert Knight

Introduction

The Wybot C1 from the renowned Wybot family is a robotic pool cleaner that has earned its place in the market. Showcasing a balance of power and precision, the C1 makes its mark with its innovative cleaning technology and durable design. This robotic pool cleaner was put through rigorous testing for three months, revealing its remarkable endurance and consistent performance.
Noteworthy features of the C1 include its intelligent scanning system which adeptly navigates your pool's surfaces, ensuring efficient cleaning. Additionally, the C1's powerful suction and single-click operation take the hassle out of maintaining a sparkling clean pool.
Though the Wybot C1 exhibits promising attributes, it has not reached a level of excellence that earns our full recommendation. While it performed sufficiently during our test period, we believe there are better options available on the market. Particularly, the Dolphin ProLine series and the Dolphin Max-Series robotic pool cleaners have earned our preference for their superior cleaning abilities and impressive feature sets.

Pool Types

The Wybot C1 is a highly versatile robot, designed to cater to a wide range of pools. Whether you have a pool that's in-ground or standing above ground, this robotic cleaner ensures your entire pool is thoroughly cleaned, covering an impressive length of up to 46 feet. Satisfying the needs of different pool owners, it potently handles all types of surfaces: Gunite, Fiberglass, Vinyl, or Liner.
This robotic cleaner embraces flexibility with the variety of pool shapes it can handle. Rectangular or oval, freeform or otherwise, the Wybot C1 ensures a comprehensive clean freeing you from manual labor. Whether you have an organic-shaped pool or a classic rectangular one, it remains unfazed by the shape, diving in to make sure every inch is spotless.
Therefore, if your pool falls into the above parameters, you can trust the Wybot C1 to handle your pool cleaning needs. It redefines versatility, providing excellent performance on a wide range of pool types and surfaces, and adapting to whatever pool shape you may have. By handling both in-ground and above-ground pools of various materials, the Wybot C1 truly stands out as a one-size-fits-all solution for pool owners.

Pool Coverage

The Wybot C1 offers a comprehensive cleaning coverage for your pool. Its advanced technology allows for flawless navigation as it scrubs and vacuums your pool floor, making sure it's completely free of dirt and debris. The robot's intelligent scanning system can also identify pool walls and climbs them with ease, clearing off any unwanted particles that may have clung to the sides.
But the Wybot C1 doesn't stop there. What sets it apart is its ability to clean all the way to the waterline, a task that some pool robots notoriously struggle with. The C1, however, leaves no stone unturned. It ensures that the line along the surface of the water, where residue often collects, is just as clean as the rest of your pool.
Another merit of the Wybot C1 is its versatility. While some pool robots may be better suited for flat pools, the C1 can adapt to almost any pool shape and size. It navigates slopes and curves with the same precision as it does flat areas, meaning you can sit back and relax regardless of the pool design you have.

Filtration

The filter type of the robotic pool cleaner is central to evaluating its performance, particularly when it comes to ProLine robots. This brand markedly includes an advanced feature known as NanoFiltration. This innovative characteristic is not only commendable but has shown to excel in functionality, pushing the boundaries of what robotic pool cleaners are capable of.
My firsthand experience with a ProLine robot featuring NanoFiltration was astonishing; it outperformed every other robotic pool cleaner I've tested so far. The efficiency it exhibites when it comes to cleaning is unparalleled, reaching incredibly minute debris and particulates that most cleaners typically miss.
The ProLine robot's NanoFiltration doesn’t merely scratch the surface but goes deep, a testament to its superior cleaning ability. Not only does it clean on a microscopic level, but it does so thoroughly and consistently, leaving my pool sparkling clean after each use. This is definitely a high mark for ProLine robots and sets them apart in this competitive market.
In summary, ProLine's NanoFiltration absorbs and traps tiny debris, providing a cleaning so deep and meticulous that it far exceeds the capabilities of any other pool robot I've ever tested. This is one of the reasons that ProLine robots hold a special place in my recommendations. For anyone in search of the best in pool cleaning technology, the ProLine series is undoubtedly one to consider.

Cleaning Performance

Our testing process was meticulous and thorough, consisting of various pools around our campus. We went to significant lengths, replicating different scenarios a pool robot might encounter — ultimately setting a high bar on performance levels. Our first hand experience was telling. We found that our assumptions about corded robots were largely accurate, with their superior performance consistently on display.
Our first test was a dirty pool, filled with numerous leaves and dirt particles. The Dolphin ProLine and Max-Series vibrantly outshined their industry peers here. They boasted an impressive brush system that swept away dirt with efficacy while their filter cartridges easily handled the mess. Specifically, the Dolphin Premier model was noteworthy for its precision and power. The energy efficiency of these models was also commendable.
Next, we simulated a clean pool scenario to evaluate the navigation and adherence to the cleaning cycle. Once again, the Dolphins - particularly the Premier and Sigma, intelligently scanned the space and maintained cleaning paths with minimal overlap, preserving energy and time. This suggests advanced AI integrated into Dolphin's design has been finely tuned for optimal cleaning efficiency.
The cordless models in comparison, despite being convenient, seemed to lack the power and longevity the corded models demonstrated. We found ourselves needing to intervene to recharge them quite frequently which wasn't a concern with the corded models. This, along with their sometimes patchy performance, stoked our preference for corded cleaners.
The Dolphin Explorer and Aquabot were definitely commendable for their value offerings. They may not have matched the performance of the Max-Series or ProLine, but they were still competitive and provided strong cleaning capability at a more affordable price point. Our accumulated weeks of testing provided a genuine perspective on the ability of these robots. The clear standouts for us were the corded premium offerings from Dolphin, particularly the ProLine, Premier, and Sigma, followed by the Dolphin Explorer and the Aquabot. Restocking Fee

Cordless

The first thing to note about our preferred pool cleaners is that they are corded. After rigorous testing of over 100 robots, we have found that corded devices unequivocally outperform their cordless counterparts. The reason is that corded models have a continuous power supply, which ensures a consistent performance.
With corded cleaners, you don't have to worry about recharging them again and again. You can plug them in and let them do their work, making them the epitome of set-it-and-forget-it convenience. Practically speaking, this results in substantially less effort and hassle on your end.
Cordless robots, in contrast, require frequent interactions. While they might initially seem convenient due to the absence of cords, the truth soon becomes apparent when they run out of battery mid-clean and need to be recharged. Not to mention, they tend to lack the robust and reliable cleaning performance that their corded counterparts offer.
Ultimately, what we love about corded robots is their unfailing ability to get the job done. They are steadfast workhorses that do not compromise on performance or efficiency thanks to their uninterrupted power supply. The efficiency of corded robots truly outshines cordless devices, effortlessly transforming your pool into an oasis of sparkling cleanliness.

Weekly Timer

The Dolphin ProLine and Max-Series, for instance, offer a highly sought after feature, the weekly timer. This is an incredible feature as it removes the burden of having to manually set up the system everyday. Instead, you can conveniently set up a cleaning schedule for the entire week in one go. This automation is a sigh of relief for busy homeowners.
Whether or not a robotic pool cleaner has a weekly timer significantly contributes to its convenience factor. This feature allows for a set-and-forget automation that we absolutely adore. Cleaning your pool can thus become a hands-off task that happens in the background while you tackle other aspects of your day. It's a feature that we would recommend to everyone and believe every pool robot should include.
Sadly, not all models come equipped with this practical feature. Some models, such as certain Aquabot units, do not have a weekly timer. Despite this, they still manage to deliver remarkable value. However, for homeowners that desire more automation, the lack of a weekly timer can be a noticeable hitch. After all, who wouldn't want to avoid interacting with their pool cleaner on a daily basis?
Overall, the presence of a weekly timer is a significant consideration when reviewing and recommending robotic pool cleaners. Especially when considering corded pool cleaners, which are the type we have a preference for, the feature of a weekly timer would massively streamline their operation. In light of our experience, models which possess this feature, including the Dolphin ProLine and Max-Series, continue to remain our top recommendations.

Overview

The Wybot C1 robotic pool cleaner is a reasonable contender in the pool cleaning realm. Equipped with an array of features and functionalities that promise to make pool cleaning less of a chore. With advanced technology at its core, the Wybot C1 focuses on reducing manual effort by automating the cleaning process. The Wybot C1 showcases an impressive degree of proficiency when dealing with a variety of pool surfaces and types, demonstrating adaptability and versatility – two essential characteristics necessary for efficient pool cleaning. Its cleverly designed algorithms and systems work in harmony to ensure that every nook and corner of your pool receives cleaning attention. Despite some reports of occasional navigation struggles, overall, the Wybot C1 is quite comprehensive in its cleaning coverage. One potential disadvantage is the Wybot C1 lacks a weekly timer function, which might limit the degree of automation and convenience for some users. It's also worth mentioning that it is a corded robot, which is a plus if you prefer the superior power and longevity, and uninterrupted cleaning cycle that corded robots typically offer.
Summing it up, the Wybot C1 is a noteworthy robotic pool cleaner offering solid performance and adaptability. While it may not be in the league as some of the Dolphin line or Aquabot in terms of additional features, it still delivers where it counts: keeping your pool crystal clean with minimal fuss. This robot might not stun you with outstanding luxury features but fulfills its main role as a pool cleaner commendably. For those who want to explore more alternatives, I recommend checking out other pool cleaner reviews Dolphin ProLine Review, Dolphin Max-Series Review, or our detailed guide on the best robotic pool cleaners. Recommendation

In our extensive analysis and experience with robotic pool cleaners, we highly recommend the Max-Series and ProLine robots by Dolphin. These robotic pool cleaners are superior in terms of both power and efficiency, ultimately providing an unrivaled pool cleaning experience.
The Dolphin Max-Series, including the Premier, Sigma, Quantum, Cayman, and Escape models, all deliver outstanding cleaning performance. Built on sophisticated technology, they are adept at covering large pool areas effectively. Make sure to check out our extensive review on each of these models here.
On the other hand, Dolphin's ProLine series takes pool cleaning to an entirely new level. Its industry-leading efficiency and cleaning capabilities significantly reduce the time and effort required for pool cleaning. We have explored the ProLine's features extensively in our review here. Trust us, these cleaners are worth your investment.
In conclusion, we strongly stand behind our recommendation of the Max-Series and ProLine robotic pool cleaners. Their performance, convenience, and reliability truly set them apart from other models on the market. We are confident that they will revolutionize your pool cleaning routine.
